Autograph collectors have had times they’ve wanted to do something drastic to a celeb that turned them down for a signature. Well, these fans may not have gotten their autograph, but they got revenge.
Egyptian soccer star Mo Salah, the 26-year-old Liverpool ace, after a win on Sunday...refused to sign autographs for the fans surrounding his car. He just looked at his cell phone and drove away from the youngsters. The fans called the police, and submitted video showing him on the phone. It’s a fine of 200 pounds, and if you’ve had your license for less than two years, you lose it. Salah falls into that category. If he’s fined a few hundred, don’t feel so bad. He’s driving a $100,000 Mercedes.
Fans said they were also upset because of all the young fans near his car. That’s a time when you should be more aware of your surroundings (although looking at your phone and texting is a good way to ignore people you don’t want to sign for).
Another fan brought up a good point, saying he shouldn’t stop in traffic to sign autographs or pose for photos, either.
The team has talked to Salah about the incident. And I’m assuming this won’t make him any friendlier to the autograph seekers.
