Thanks for video.  I was a youngster when this happened and attending a school in New England.  Christa was a local hero and a fantastic person.

Thanks for the view, Michael. I was in school myself at the time. Long before kids had phones in schools obviously.

A kid ran into the classroom saying something had happened. The teacher thought the kid was playing a bad prank, but the teacher turned on the TV to check. Within seconds we all saw it was not a bad joke.

Steve, I remember exactly where I was when that happened.

I was working 2nd shift in computer operations and was excited to be home that afternoon to watch the launch.

What a tragedy.

I also vividly recall the Apollo 1 disaster.

RIP, Heroes.

great video Steve, and its appropriate to remember these heroes.   I was driving up 87 on my way to Albany when I heard the news.  Will never forget it.

Great episode, Steve.  You and I seem to have shared a very similar experience.  I was a junior in high school.  A fellow student, who was always in trouble and wandering the halls, barged into my classroom and announced the tragedy to the class.  He must have been visiting every classroom to make the announcement.  I remember my teacher considering the source and not believing him.  “I hope he’s kidding,” he said.  Unfortunately, he was not kidding.

I would need to examine this in hand to be definitive, but I have some concerns. The McAuliffe and McNair appear very slowly applied and wobbly. There are some other issues, but if the McNair and McAuliffe are suspect, the rest are a moot point.
