For my first blog post I thought I'd show off the Broadway Playbill I got signed at Xanadu by Whoopi Goldberg (she was a guest star in it for a few weeks) plus Cheyenne Jackson and Kerry Butler.

My mom's dog had just died, so I flew her up to visit me in New York City. Her favorite show is The View, so I surprised her with tickets to Xanadu that Whoopi was starring in at the time. The show was great, and we got to meet Whoopi, Cheyenne, and Kerry after the show at the stage door. (The pen I handed Cheyenne exploded in his hand, which is another blog post for another time -- talk about an embarrassing autograph moment!).

Anyway, I was struck that Whoopi walked and signed autographs with her head down a lot, not what you would expect from someone who is so outspoken and confident on screen. But she was polite and cordial when my mom told her she loves her on The View. My mom had such a good time, I think she actually forgot about her dog for the first night!
