I don't think that your other one was signed by Ray Charles. It's not a stamp, but it doesn't look real to me at all.

Sorry Steve but will have to disagree, Paul and his friend got 4 autographs from Ray Charles in one single meet on Ray's first UK tour. Paul had two and his friend had two. These I've posted are the two Paul got. This must be the hardest autograph every to get a consensus on with I guess so few existing and the inconsistency of a blind man is evident on every potential real one posted on here. The Miss Cupertino one is similar and again relies on a 55 year old memory. I'd also ask what are the chances that a white beauty queen would hang around with and even go to dinner with a black performer in US in 1962? Maybe it happened but would it have been the done thing in many places in US at that time?

just guessing but you are probably right about race relations in 1962 usa

It looks like someone who has been writing for years signed that! And this was apparently signed in front of Paul, the albums not taken off, Paul and taken backstage to be signed?

it was done at the Stage Door in the afternoon in front of him. Paul never bothered with any autograph if it was via backstage and he wasn't there.

Tough sell Phil!
No one knows Paul, so we can only go off the signatures , where there's really no examplars one or two.

Absolutely. I've got a 1000+ and some are for sale and some aren't and I'm guessing most are easy to verify. We were planning to just keep both of these as we knew it would be very problematic. No one on here would know Paul, he doesn't collect and sell in this world and neither do I. I wasn't planning to post anything on this forum to sell and I haven't. I only pitched in because someone published the link to this item. It's actually a fascinating collection and if anyone is in UK you might like to view it and talk to Paul.

Speculation.

We've got two in the same pen and ink but not identical autographs.

Sir thank you for your thought! Can you convince Mr. Paul to join the discussion and tell us personally his story? thank you:)

Well he's certainly watching the conversation with amusement. I'm only selling one of these but if anyone has a genuine interest then I would connect you up with Paul either on a Skype or even in person if in UK. We are planning a book on his experience through that period of 18 months so many of his autographs and stories will be featured. It's going to be a self-publish. We've already had one UK TV News channel talk to us to pick up the story. I didn't plan to publish any items for sale within this forum and only pitched in on this one because someone specifically posted a link for the autograph which is on for sale and felt I had to counter several of the responses.

Brother Ray NEVER signed anything in his life.
