Do people think that program is real?  GAI isn't a very good source.  It's tough to see the signatures, too...

It was laminated. Which for sure affects value. The GAI loa gives me pause. It is a recent cert from Roger on 9/30/17.

i agree about the lamination. i just pulled up the listing and not the best contrast of sigs but still lennon and warhol .2 very exensive graphs.

not laminited in the right auction  2-5 k not out of the question if not more

I will only chime in and say, this does look convincingly enough to me to be authentic. $300 is a pretty good price (even for a Paul only signature) on a "Pepper"...Even if on CD this could make for a nice display, which if done right could look amazing. Also authenticated by Roger which is good.

That all being said, it is a quick modern signature. If it being on a Beatles piece that and the price is a good selling point...I however would pay a bit more from Tracks or another reliable place and get a vintage full signature. In the long run I feel they will hold a greater value.

That is just me, if I got a "Paul" only modern signature I would cherish it for sure, but I would always have that 1% uncertainty if I didn't see it signed myself.

I wonder what types of soft plastic were used for lamination back in the day? I am thinking of pvc and the like. Permanence/stability?

I also recall eventual yellowing of some laminated items?

Yes, those plastics - 1970's laminated paper goods do degrade and from the plastics etc. and require further conservation to prevent damage to the item. The plastics used can even harm other items nearby:

Thank goodness:

"If laminated items do not have visible damage, are flat with little to no planar distortion, and have little to no noticeable odor, they can be considered stable."

Yes the iron inks and they can burn paper too (dreaded "halo"), but this is in a vacuum, no? I think they were all blue anyway.

GAI doesn't mention the lamination LOL

Even assuming the Roger cert is real, I would not feel comfortable with a first name only unless maybe I got it myself in person. Just too easy to forge.

It just has way too many strikes against it. Stability is a concern as well as degradation. I see up upside apart from price and we know that is a temporary thrill.

I wouldn't want any type of lamination. At least with slabs you can crack them open.
