That print is gorgeous, and even though you picked it up from a member here, it’s exactly what I’m talking about when it comes to buying as much official artist merchandise as you can, that you like. Awesome piece.

Christopher and Paul,

Thanks for explaining how you determine authenticity before you purchase.

(Christopher's explanation is on Pg. 332 and Paul's is on Pg. 333.)

You have somewhat different approaches:

Christopher almost always has a TPA, Roger Epperson, authenticate his music autographs, even after he gets input from other collectors.
Paul's a real student of authentication, and authenticates autographs he's interested in himself, and gets input from other collectors who are good at authenticating that autograph.

Both are viable ways to go and very valuable posts. For members that haven't read each of their full posts on pages 332 and 333, I encourage you to. They're well worth reading carefully.

Christopher and I don't see eye-to-eye on one of the sources he likes, but that happens. It's important for all collectors to verify the authenticity of every autograph you're considering purchasing before you buy, and develop your own group of trusted sources.

I agree that we should have a separate discussion on the topic of how to verify authenticity of autographs. Why don't we leave recommendations of dealers, auction houses and other sources to buy from out of it? Let's focus on the process.
