Does anyone know who owns the original?
Tags: Beatles
I saw this on eBay also. Perhaps a color xerox? The LOA that comes with it states it was signed on the back of a photo -- yet the seller claims it is signed on thick paper stock. Why is this a well known fake?
On Jul-28-18 at 17:44:04 PDT, seller added the following information:
The autographs were not on the back of a photograph, that's why there is no photo posted. I received this without the corresponding photo mentioned in the letter. The autographs were never on the back side of the mentioned photo in the letter, rather the autographs were in a photo album next to the photograph. When I purchased this on eBay 20+ years ago I only received the autographs and letter as posted.
The letter of provenance does make it sound as though the Beatles signed the back of a photo. Either way, this would mean that It's Only Rock and Roll sold a reprint.
The autograph set the seller is auctioning off is not It's Only Rock... If it was, a COA from the company would be included.
I realize that. If the set is on the back of a photo, or the one from the seller is real and he has owned it for 20+ years, it would mean that the set from IORR is a reprint. That's what I was trying to say.
I understand what you wrote before. I was just pointing out that the autograph on ebay is not from "It's Only Rock..." auction. I can't believe so many copies of this set are being sold as genuine, especially the one sold by "It's Only Rock..."
its only r and roll uses frank for there beatles stuff so it would be weird for them to sell a fake.
not that they don't sell a lot of fakes on others but they did use frank for years for all the beatles stuff
Just received this from the seller
Your receiving this response because you either had a bid or a question regarding the item.
I have ended the item in auction due to concerns on the authenticity of the autographs. Just today I received a number of questions and 3 different pictures of the exact same autograph from 3 different viewers/bidders. with the help & advise of another ebay-er in trying to determine authenticity, I have chosen to remove the item until I am assured the item is real.
Thank you.
