Hi, I would appreciate some advice on which auction houses in the UK would be good to help me sort and sell my autographs, which I inherited from my late father. There are over 2000 items in the collection and I just don't know where to start. My father said years ago that 'when his time came', we should just flog the lot on ebay. However, this is just far too big an undertaking!

From the invaluable opinions ive gained so far here on a few of these items, it's made me realise I need a company who can be trusted to weed out the fakes and be quite reliable. Any opinions please (other than Frasers)?

Thanks so much!

Also, opinions on ones to avoid would be great too.

depends on what there worth but try bonhams

Omega Auctions are Very Good and Helpful and Specialise Just in Music Memorabilia and records and Nothing else!

Thank you both. After looking up Bonhams details I have realised there is a branch less than two miles from where I live! I never knew it was there.

I think that if you want a good result, Bonhams is the best in Uk or RR auction in Usa...

Or if you want to sell the items not in auction but trough a dealer, TRACKS UK is the best in Uk. Can i know some name of these autographs? Music rock? Contact me in private. Thanks.

Sure, I will send you a message later.

Well?

If it were me and they were decent music autographs with a worldwide appeal I would sell through RR all day long sure use Bonhams to check them but they kill off buyers with difficult bidding sign ups, short payment options ,expensive postage and high fees all this keeps the number of bidders and bidding down they can be selective and arsey if they are selling a 10 million dollar painting but it doesn't work so well for buyers on a $1000 autograph

Or sell directly to a collector here...

actually the fees as a buyer are basicly the same with either one

and listing fees as a seller isn't that much of a difference with either one also

I deal with both directly

rr will take lower end stuff bonhams wont but bonhans name carries much more wieght in the auction market

sorry Mr Mojo, been too caught up at home to message but I'll do my best in the next day or so.

My husband is going up to the local Bonhams office tomorrow with a few things and to have a chat with them. Are rr an American based company?
