Has anyone else had a bad experience with these guys? I recently bought a Randy Moss helmet with their hologram on the back of it. The number was from years back, and not in their online database. I called them, and they said i would have pay to re-authenticate their work. Shouldn't they still be liable for their previous work? Shouldn't there be some kind of record or accountability for what they've previously done? According to them, nothing they've done prior to their online database is valid without their paper certificate with it. Does this sound right at all? I have never experienced this from any other authentication company. Typically the company still has some record of the work they've done surely!?

Isn't Radke really a dealer who puts holograms on their items, not technically an authentication company?

While the distinction may be small, I would not expect a dealer to have a database of every item they ever sold going back for many years.

That said the right thing for them to do would be to look at it for free and verify if it is indeed a legitimate item. I do not know if their holograms have been counterfeited... I kind of doubt it, but anything is possible when it comes to scammers.

Steve is correct.  Here is their policy on older items:

Previous to the new databased authentication system, Radtke Sports used a paper certificate of authenticity with dual matching serial numbered holograms. One hologram would be affixed to the item and one hologram affixed to the certificate. These holograms were NOT databased. If you would like to re-submit your item to be authenticated with our new hologram, we will re-authenticate the item for a $10 fee. You will be required to pay for the item to be shipped to us and back to you.

wouldn’t you think they should stand by their old work and just enter the old series into their database instead of charging you to do the same work again? I think that’s kind of lame and a way to more or less extort more money out of you if you misplace your cert. it was just really frustrating to me that this was their response instead of honoring their previous work and uploading the old information.

I think what they are saying is that the old numbering system was never in a database... it was just paper cert with a matching hologram. Once it went out the door, it was gone. They could not enter it if they wanted because they don't have the data.

nope.  With the way previously solid companies like Steiner have had their stickers either stolen or duplicated, I do not blame Radke for wanted to inspect an item prior to putting it their database.   It is for your protection also, as the last thing you want is that company's reputation to be damaged by counterfeiting.  I think 10 dollars is very reasonable.

My response was for the previous post, not for Mr. Zarelli's.

I used to see them at shows all the time...lve bought a few things off ebay and was happy...l knew a few who worked with them at shows and that's why l trust them,,,that MHO of course

Steiner is no Different I have a hockey puck with their Hologram on it it is numbered and they have no data of it they just told me if the hologram is on it its good they have no records of their older stuff either
