Thanks for all of your comments and replies guys.

What I can't believe is the seller must know this and yet is still trying to sell an item that is 100% fraudulent.

What is bay's legal angle on this??

Does anyone know?

I might ping eBay customer service a message and try to find out.

Cheers.

Hi

Ebay do not Police the sale of fraudulent autographs at all. I/we have researched this recently in the UK. They ignore all reports made from the sale listing page of a fake signed item. I have watched many fakes sale when I have reported the item for sale as fake.

Ebay policy is to 'Let the buyer decide on making a purchase' on feedback and to 'offer a full refund' afterwards if requested. This is how they cover themselves. They literally protect fraudsters - many of which have managed to attain some good feedback.

We have counted 100s of fake accounts that fraudsters use and set up to sell fake items (many of which remain idle), but there maybe 1000s. Of course it would be a full time job to ascertain this. When we sent our findings to Ebay they ignored us. So did PayPal. The fraudsters accounts remain open.

You can try phoning to complain but invariably you end up at a call centre in the Philippines somewhere talking to a customer service adviser who does not understand autographs.

PayPal are not any better unfortunately.

Incredible!

I can't believe they let this go on.

Great response BTW, many thanks for taking the time.

Cheers.
