A great idea just came to me - I am going to ask the forums opinion BEFORE I buy! Any thoughts on this Gene Wilder? I looked at some examples of his signature and did not see any closed *Gs* like this - but no two signatures look alike. Joe W. - I hope you see this; I read your previous opinions on Gene and know you have a few of his. The *R* does not slant like your examples, but pass or buy? Thanks!

Looks nothing like mine from the early 70's.

Yeah - I figured as much. Thanks.

Atypical, sorry. Good idea to ask first.

Yeah - I should not have wasted the forums time - I saw no examples of a closed G online. Like this Elvis - usually, his Y has a much bigger loop to it. Thanks again.

No time wasted. We all learn by asking.

You didn't waste anyone's time. You did the correct thing by getting an opinion from other before buying.

Thanks, BC. It is so awesome that Steve runs this site and everyone helps. I have learned a lot but as I said before, signatures change so much through the years that it is nice to be able to get (free) opinions. The Elvis I posted above I thought kind of looked like his 50s sig but looking through this site I guess it is not.

Wilder's can be tricky since it's changed a little over a years, with his older signature looking nicer. I was lucky to get him through the mail a little bit before he passed.

I'm a big fan of Wilder's and have owned a number of his signatures over the years. Here is one that was cut from a book that I matted. Thought you might enjoy seeing it.

Ugggg...so jealous!! He was one-of-a-kind. I finally hanged all of mine (all - LOL) yesterday. I have all of Monty Python*s (except Graham Chapman) PLUS a doodle from Terry Gilliam, all of Doctor Who - except William Hartnell. Lucked into 2 Jon Pertwee and a wonderful letter from Patrick Troughton. 2 Don Knotts and a personalized picture from Todd McIntosh - the best make-up artist in Hollywood! Gene, David Bowie, and a signed South Park doodle are on my wish-list.
There are a lot of old-timers coming up at an auction (Bette Davis, Lana Turner,...etc.) but I have never seen a WDW COA. Did some research on here and the consensus seems to be they are legit. There is a Jimmy Stewart signed Harvey drawing that I might have to have!!!

PM sent.

I think it's secretarial. I only know of a couple of occasions he signed TTM and once he got flooded with requests he stopped
