I haven't seen their respons to Alicia, but if that's how they're handling it then I'm done with Premiere. 

I sent a couple of messages about Songteller, but they aren't responding.

Everyone needs to file a BBB complaint and dispute the charges with the credit card company and continue to message the book seller. These companies don’t have the staffing to handle all the complaints if we all follow through with this. They wouldn’t be able to fight PayPal and the credit card companies and BBB in a timely manner and would lose a chunk of the cases just based on that alone .

I agree with you, Brian.  I got my credit card to refund my money for the Songteller from Chronicle Books.  I will definitely file a BBB complaint right away.

So PayPal sided with Chronicle on my case lol…whatever, I guess I’ll throw it in the garbage and move on. I take satisfaction that some folks got their money back and this presumably cost Chronicle a lot of time and money. Screw Dolly and Chronicle books- FRAUD!!

Sadly not surprising - of my recent 6 or 7 similar Paypal cases in the last 18 months  where the items were  Autopenned or didn't arrive signed at all Paypal have come down in the sellers favour in all but one of the cases - the only case i won was with Aurora's Webstore when they didn't reply to any of my private messages where my Signed LP / CD or cassette didn't arrive signed - and they then didn't reply to any messages on the Paypal claim either.

Paypal are as bad as the Fraudulant sellers - their money back guarantees are worthless - with next to useless customer service - the sooner people wise up to how useless Paypal really are and stop using them the better - maybe Join one of the Paypal forums on reddit and read all the horror stories to give you some idea of what they are really like!

Interesting…yeah, I had little hope personally but was lifted by some responses on here. Honestly, this was my first dispute in hundreds of purchases!! I got the “no significant material differences” to support “item not as described.” Lol ok, it’s a sleeve not a book and it’s an autopen not a real sig.

This is terrible. I havent purchased anything from Facebook groups yet but have been tempted at times. Does this mean PayPal is worthless as a protection for that type of purchase? 

For ebay, PayPal will always side with the buyer but most of the time, the item needs to be returned.. Maybe thats just an ebay thing...  ive sold unsigned vinyls in the past. One of them the buyer said was damaged, sent back a completely different vinyl.. paypal through ebay forced me to take it. Ebay only gave me an option in the end that would flag his account so they would know if he continued this practice. They 100% side with buyers always on ebay.. why not with other retailers?

I've seen books on ebay where they state specifically the situation and that it is an autopen but Waterstones  stands by it. Still sold for $200. Maybe these buyers aren't reading the description? I'd say sell it truthfully at auction, acknowledging the autopen. Someone will still buy it. Did you send PayPal examples? Did they have slight difference? I believe this is a big reason for the slight forced inconsistencies.. sure they are deceiving everyone.  But credit cards, PayPal... they are not experts. If they can fool them, the fight gets harder in the future

Yeah, I sent photos and everything…thought I made a decent case but I can’t see what chronicle said in response. PayPal even went back to them for further info, which I thought may be favorable to me but clearly not lol! Yeah, may sell on secondary with full disclosure. The book itself is worth something…

Back when I got the email from Chronicle offering me the discount code “for my trouble” I messaged them back saying I wanted to return the book (it’s still sealed.) I have yet to hear back from them. They better respond to me.

It's funny that they KNOW the books are all autopen and still refuse to admit it and give the money back.

I just got an email from Ray at Chronicle. They are sending me a FedEx label to return the Songteller and they will issue a refund. Thank god. I’m so over this. And I’m really mad at Dolly. Im a huge Dolly fan too.
