***URGENT UPDATE
Previous update
Some users have uncovered potential autopen use within Bob Dylan's expensive art prints. Please check your prints if you own one and post a picture on this thread if you have any concerns.

*UPDATE - Let this be a warning to ALL publishers and celebrities in the future. We are sick and tired of these autopen releases. Our community has had enough and absolutely will not stand for this practice to continue any longer!!!
I want to point out that Coles Books needs to be commended. They made sure to look out for their customers and refused to ship these out if they came from the same S&S stock, which they did. It was also an easy process to cancel orders beforehand if you wished. Coles. on behalf of everyone, I want to thank you for having integrity and watching out for all of us.
I can NOT say the same about Premiere Collectibles. They refused to honor cancelation requests until it was known these books were in fact autopenned. They advertise themselves claiming they are collectors themselves. This is not true. They are a retailer first and only care about your money. There have been other autopen incidents where they absolutely refused to accept blame, stating items were real when they were clearly deemed autopen by the community. Be careful with future purchases with Premiere Collectibles.
This email came directly from Jonathan Karp at Simon and Schuster. If anyone still wishes to send him a message, here is his email address as well.

We apologize for the mistake that was made and are offering a full refund of your purchase. Please keep your copy of The Philosophy of Modern Song at no cost. We hope you will enjoy reading it.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Karp

ORIGINAL POST
I am creating this thread as a comprehensive all in 1 link for returns, refunds, chargebacks and claims made regarding the "signed" edition of Bob Dylan - The Philosophy Of Modern Song. Please use this link to email Simon & Schuster, Coles, and Premiere Collectables as 100% proof these were signed using an autopen machine.
I would like to say right off the bat, Coles Books in the UK is handling this professionally and seem to care deeply about their customer base. They have stated that, once they are in hand, If they find evidence of them being autopenned, they will cancel all orders.. Kudos to Coles.. I wish all retailers would follow their lead. If you wish to cancel your order with them immediately instead of waiting, It seems to be an easy process.
This post will be continuously updated with new information over the next few days
Please refer to this article for the time being until more information is added

Here is the post I created a few weeks ago with info regarding the Indigo incident.

So far, there have been a total of 17 confirmed different templates for the autopen machine used for Bob Dylans signature. I am in the process of creating video comparisons for all 17 sets. Please post full page photos of your item as they are delivered to aid in this process
Here are all 17 templates used by Bob Dylan - I am still looking for full page photos for numbers 8,13 and 15 thru 17 but its still best to post whatever you receive
Be aware when checking against your own copy, it has come to light that they are possibly using 1st and last names interchangeably. Bob in #2 matches perfectly with Bob in #13 while Dylan in both are different
14th variation confirmed
15th variation
16th variation - Seems to be almost an exact combination of #11 and #13 with a different vertical line in his "D"
17th variation
Video and photo comparisons created so far

Dolly Parton is also guilty of using multiple autopens in the same fashion with multiple templates over the years but with a slight twist where they manipulate the page as the autopen machine writes her signature. If we are looking to stop all future attempts at autopen usage, she needs to be held accountable just as much as Bob Dylan and S&S. Link to threads below
Here is a great example provided by Eric Keith Longo

You are right.. dont abandon speculation, I just don't think its the best time to talk about it like its a certanty.. this whole Dylan fiasco is way too important for this hobby and, nothing personal, I just don't want to see it turned into a witch hunt. These items will not have the same attention in the media as the books had without lawyers getting involved.
Yep. Where all doing gods work trying to show the truth . If bob really did all this he might be in deep s*** .Everyone on this site was really helpful .
This was already a proven tactic with templates from the books.. see template 16.. its a mix, mostly of 11 and 13 but the vertical line of the D came from somewhere else so its probably a combination of 3 separate templates
I'm home now and taking a closer look at this.. these are surely autopen!.. why would they autopen directly on a piece of art HE created??? artprints are bad enough.. This makes me think that he absolutely refuses to sign anything these days and his team found a work around.. or.. are these art pieces created by someone else and Dylan refused to put his name on it. I have so many questions. this is amazing.
Yep, hey Jason H, WE may end up being the group that brings down THE BOB DYLAN & HIS GANG OF FRAUDSTERS...with YOU as our Leader!!!
Told ya, told ya, told ya...THERE WAS MORE FRAUD... and it lurked in Dylan's artworld of expen$ive prints and Mondo Scripto.
There's even more my friends...waaaaay more...$cammer, Greed, Avarice !!!
Perhaps you should give ALL the media you've been in contact with, a little "taste" of what's coming next for Mr. Bob Dylan. Me thinks the artworld ain't gonna be too impressed with Robert Allen Zimmerman!
as Joni Mitchell says "Everything is fake with Bob Dylan...even his name".
Ah, thanks for pointing that out.. passed over the details. I wouldnt think a replica would cost $25k..
Well if's a replica it will be a replica signature as well so it should correspond exactly to the signature on the original painting.
Signed prints are signed on the mount and not in the image. Any prints where the sig is actually part of the image is not an actual hand-signed signature, obviously. It was easier to distinguish in the old days, I guess, when artists would often add their signature to the original plate or stone, Even that would not be described as a "signed" print - it would be described as "signed in the plate" or "signed in the stone".
Not all art-dealers are ethical, however, and many will still describe, say a Picasso lithograph as "signed" when they mean signed in the stone. As for ebayers, well....
Now with digital prints it's a bit different. Now they are scanning a master copy. Unlikely that they will be scanning a mounted piece with a signature on the mount which would be easy to figure out as signatures would be identical.
Although servi mentioned a number (295 copies?) for one of the prints, that was the gallery information. They were not actually numbered. So all they are describing here is a first edition of that print. I am pretty sure that Dylan would wish his heirs to be able to publish new editions of these prints so in his mind they are open editions - why would he sign them when he has this apparent aversion? He might sign a few for his inner circle but the whole edition?
Probably, when he started publishing his art works he would have been more engaged and willing to sign them, which is why the apparently genuinely signed items we have seen here have been older examples. Conjecture.
You’re comparing a sloppy autograph from way back when to his neat handwriting. I’ve seen his neat handwriting.
I haven't read through all the comments but is anyone aware that Dylan has been known to sign with both hands? That explains some of the sloppiness on some and also why it can be difficult to determine authenticity.
Thanks for this.. it would explain why his signature can have different slants, look like a secretarial yet still resemble his style.. this gives me another avenue to research and would explain why I see things differently than InkInvestor. Im almost certain everything is still signed by Dylan but ran into a dead end so far trying to prove it
I found this post from a few years ago questioning this
