$20 to ship a comic book?! Hahahhahahahhahaa!
wow really, not something I would collect so I didn't go that far to find that out lol, that would cost them maybe $3 to ship. ridiculous
Forbidden Planet and Another Universe have had abysmal shipping prices for as long as I can remember. If you want them to ship internationally, their prices will make your blood pressure skyrocket.
Shipping to Germany would cost 69 USD. That´s ridiculous...
I have bought a few things from them. Shipping charges are decent within the UK but interestingly, when they combine orders in the same shipment they never refund the difference. So if you place 3 orders for 3 different items and receive them all together in one parcel, you will still have paid shipping for a single item x3.
A lot of retailers set shipping rates for stock based on an average weight which are - software-wise - difficult or even impossible to adjust for inventory items which fall well below that average.
Just sayin'.
Over the last 12 months I would also say that many online retailers - and this is particularly true in the UK - have increased their shipping rates deliberately in order to discourage buyers from abroad. That may sound insane - and will not be true of major retailers, I guess - but for smaller, independent outfits, the increased costs and red-tape of posting abroad nowadays is both impacting profit margins and causing a lot of hassle.

Not sure if this has been listed or not but was reading an article on today being the 40th anniversary of the final episode of M*A*S*H and it had an article that lead to Loretta Swit's website and she has an autographed (must be personalized) photo or a book with proceeds helping her animal charities.
