FB RACC members who bought these sold as signed by Elton John in his store have compared theirs—they're Autopens, essentially identical.

Infuriating!

Unfortunately things like this happen, most times it's not the artist's fault. I'll add some more optimism to the discussion by saying that I'm sure these cases are typical only for a minor portion of the super big names.

Ozzy, the prince of darkness and heavy metal, had this issue in his previous album pre-order back in 2020, and he's learned his lesson since then. I've yet to be hit by an autopen from an official merch store.

Hopefully people get a response to their emails today.

I had an email yesterday cancelling my outstanding print and CD, still not sure what is going on?!?

In the grand scheme of things, these autopen problems (and I'm lumping in Parton, Patterson and Copperfield with them) are small incidents. The vast majority of signers neither have the ability to fake, nor the capacity/manpower/inclination, to fake their own signatures.

The "signed copies on the chart" loophole has closed, and the ones that tried it this summer (largely) failed miserably before the rules changed to their current standing. Dylan's rep in the collector community has been tarnished, possibly permanently. Leaf/Pop Century's antics have been caught out, and they're getting raked over the coals for problems that have been slowly manifesting for years.

Karma catches up to those who try to fleece the system. It may take time, but it catches up eventually.

I received this today from Banquet Records regarding the Liam Gallagher signatures :

We've spoken to the people at Liam's label who arranged these prints - people who we've known and worked with for many years.

We have no reason to doubt them when they tell us Liam signed all of the prints. They went to great lengths to make these happen, took the prints to Liam themselves, and chose to offer them to an independent retailer. As this was part of a very close chart battle in the week of release, if they'd wanted to entertain the (thoroughly morally objectionable) idea of "fake" signatures, they would have been stupid not to have made five times more of them available.

Unlike some on social media, we do not and will not make unsubstantiated claims about the artists who choose to work with us.

You're entitled to return anything you order from us for any reason within 14 days of receipt. Details of how to do that are below - we don't offer free returns.

😳

I received that exact same e mail last week along with hundreds more people I guess.

Hmmmm BR where have I heard this name before...

They sent me my Gorillaz CD in some jankie packing and the souvenir tickets for the event took many weeks to arrive and were really poor quality and basic for the money.

The event itself was shockingly badly hosted and short, I purchased tickets for both sessions but because the first was so poor I left early and because I left early and didnt use my second ticket where others who stayed for both got £20 store vouchers I only got £10 even though I spent the same ammount on tickets as thsoe who got £20.

Bunch of jokers really.

Oh well, looks like I have an autopen coming through Royal Mail from overseas. Fortunately, I still have this guy on my wall:

Has anyone received any response?
