Guaranteed Forensic Authenticators (GFA) - Recent JAMES DEAN "Autographs" landing on the market

Recently we discussed here a GFA authenticated James Dean that's been running on eBay:

Now, there's another GFA badged Dean that is listed at Julien's Auctions' upcoming December sale that looks to be by the same hand (not Dean's).

The opening bid at Julien's for this GFA Dean is $450 ... with an estimate of between $600 - $800.  With those relatively rather low numbers for a major iconic name like Dean who usually sells for thousands, it's like the auction house doesn't even seem to believe in it's own listing.

I don't think much of Julien's Auctions but selling a "James Dean" certified by GFA (Guaranteed Forged Autographs), an authenticator known in the business of certifying forgeries as genuine, surprises me.

We had a brief discussion yesterday in the Classic Hollywood autograph group about a secretarial Bette Davis piece offered by this auction house some time ago that sold for $10,625.  That one was so bad that it makes this Dean look like an "honest mistake"

What kind of Bette Davis is $11,000?

Good god.

This is the verso of the Julien's Dean.  The GFA sticker is on the front and they just describe this additional sticker on the verso as being from "another" authenticator....without identifying it.  I don't seem to recognize it.

I don't recognize it either, there are a zillion fraudulent authenticators like GFA.
