I just got an autograph auction notice from a place called Pieces of the Past. Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with them?

Got it. Thank you very much for the insightful information. it's very helpful.

You are very welcome. That can be found using the Search Engine here.

The company is called "Piece of the Past' and used to operate out of Las Vegas. Now they are in Georgia. They have Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison signatures starting at $400 (when they should be at least 10 times that amount). Their  COA's also come from "Piece of the Past" which should tell you all you need to know.  From their site: WE DO NOT REFUND BASED ON OPINIONS OF THE OPINION COMPANIES such as PSA JSA GAI Or BSA

+1

It's a bit sad to think of how much bad material has been dumped into the autograph market over the years by companies like this.

I guess I'm hopelessly naive and find it hard it to believe that a seller would knowingly defraud purchasers. As a Christian, I'd be afraid God would punish me severely for doing such a dishonest thing.

For those who have no religious beliefs, it would be Karma that would come back and get me.

For me, everything is a forgery until proven otherwise.  You do the same work and learn as well.

Did you see the other thread where the seller is offering a "Joplin" signed album released 3 months after the death of Janis Joplin? I don't think that sort of seller has any long game in mind.

They’ve been discussed on this site a number of times. You’d be hard pressed to find even a glimmer of positivity on them.
