for the jazz fans, release date was today--

Charles Lloyd isn't getting any younger at 87, and not sure why the vinyl wasn't blue, but...

CHARLES LLOYD - Charles Lloyd - Figure In Blue - Blue Note Records

Figure In Blue is a spacious double album of new studio recordings featuring jazz legend Charles Lloyd in the company of a new trio with pianist Jason Moran and guitarist Marvin Sewell. The great saxophonist’s 12th Blue Note album travels wide expanses of musical terrain from beautiful ballads to raw Delta blues and includes heartfelt homages to Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, and Zakir Hussain with Lloyd paying tribute to the musicians and influences that have shaped him.

The result is one of the most musically stunning and personally meaningful recordings of Lloyd’s career. In it, you can hear a kind of memoir unfold at the same time the saxophonist puts forth a candid document of his undiminished strength. At 87 years old, his tone and technique are, as ever, equally mighty and ethereal, delivering startling intensity even in moments of meditative quiet.

Sammy Hagar and The Best of All Worlds Band "The Residency" Vinyl and poster signed by the entire band. $250. Good artists, wish they would've signed the album jacket though.

Men Without Hats CD preorder (seems kinda high for a one-hit wonder):

Men Without Hats on the Moon Full Length AUTOGRAPHED CD and Downloa...

Well they weren’t a one hit wonder

in the States they are,

"Pop Goes the World" may have topped the charts in Austria, but mostly laid an egg here.

99.5% of the people either can't name them at all, or just know "Safety Dance." Jus' sayin'...

Pop Goes The World was a top 20 hit in the US which means they aren’t a one hit wonder

Most people either completely forgot that song or don't remember ever hearing it to begin with.  Just sayin'.

'Pop Goes The Weasel?` I love that song. Probably grew out of it by the time I was 3 or 4 years old though. Definitely a Top 20 song, it's still a banger....

In some live 1975 versions of Pink Floyd's SOYCD Part IX the traditional song "Pop Goes the Weasel" often makes a small appearance on Rick's keyboards at the very end.

Seriously? That's wild. I always enjoyed Ummagumma's 'Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave and Grooving With A Pict.'

I had a friend who would put that on at top volume in the dark for people that never heard that song.

Your friend sounds like a fun guy. It always seemed like Monty Python and Pink Floyd decided to cut a song together. Atom Heart Mother was another one I loved. 'Breast Milky' and 'Funky Dung' were fantastic.
