Hi everyone, last month I won an auction hosted by the charity run by Bob Dylan's daughter-in-law Stacy Dylan. The item in question is a signed Freewheelin' Bob Dylan Album, which came with a COA from Matt Arkin.
I note there has been previous discussion on the forum regarding Matt Arkin COAs, and the style of the signature differs from that of, for example, the 2017 Dylan albums signed for his manager, Jeff Rosen.
For those reasons, I thought it best to post some images on the forums to see what people think.

I believe this to be genuine
While a little quirky in sections, this looks legitimate to me, and the provenance is good. Bob has donated many items to this charity over the years.
Here is the original auction listing page:

I think that this looks ok, and has characteristics of his signatures on his artwork and other signed albums I have seen him sign in the past 5 years or so.
I moved this discussion to the Bob Dylan Autographs forum. The "Is This Autograph Real?" forum is fine but you may get more experienced responses here.
James, the Dylan autograph on that album does not look to me like it was signed by Bob Dylan.
Look at the autographs on his artwork over last 10 years—including the thousands of autopen signatures on $3,000 prints he claimed he signed till collectors here and on Facebook called him out on it and he admitted they were autopens.
Look at the Bob Dylan genuinely-signed albums and lyrics that Jeff Rosen marketed for Dylan over the past 15 years. Those do not look like the autograph on your album.
And does your album look like it was signed by a man in his 80s?
Dylan may have signed your album, but it doesn't look to me like he did. I'd push for a refund.
James, that is what I meant by 'slam dunk" - this doesn't appear it.
Not only does the signature differ from the Drawn Blank prints and the Rosen LPs, but the LOA has Jeff Rosen's address and email on the bottom which makes no sense if it came from Matt Arkin. Plus, the logo on top isn't centered properly leading me to believe it was a cut and paste job from another LOA. Can anyone show me another recent exemplar where Bob elongated his first letter "B" that much? Unless this is a "new style" this one is very suspect.
+1
That still doesn't explain why Jeff Rosen's contact information is at the bottom of Matt Arkin's letter.
From Reddit: The name “Matt Arkin” mainly appears in fan and collector discussions in the context of Bob Dylan autograph authentication, where people mention a “Matt Arkin” on certificates of authenticity and question whether he might have signed items himself rather than Dylan. In those discussions, “Matt Arkin” is treated as an uncertain or possibly dubious authenticator name, not as someone known to be part of Dylan’s circle, family, or official team
You're wrong about that part because I read that his manager confirmed that person is legitimate. I also read that Bob personally donated items to Julien auction with that coa. So what i think may be happening is something similar to Bob may have done in the past had people sign for him. He's not a good person, so I just wouldn't be surprised why some of those items may turn up fake. There are definitely real ones with that coa. And people have faked that coa too.
