Hi all,

I recently purchased a signed Mickey Mantle/Billy Martin photo at auction from Monday Night Auctions; they're located in Phoenix, Az. and I participated online through AuctionZip.

I'm interested to know your thoughts on its authenticity. Note: photo has been cropped a bit to zoom in on signatures.

Thanks,

Karin

Get your money back.

Yup.

Sorry Karin...those autos are forgeries...get your money back ASAP

Thank you everyone, that's about what I thought. The COA is from Christopher Morales and I didn't realize at the time what that meant. I do now.

Unfortunately, these auction houses hide behind their "as is-where is" policy and refuse to issue refunds, especially b/c they posted photos of the COA with the item. I'll give it a shot, but I'm learning in a hurry that there is a big industry of auction houses (which I thought would have some standards and protocols, especially when hooked into a larger entity like AuctionZip) that sell these frauds on purpose and then give the consumer nothing more than a "ha ha" when they complain.

I appreciate the input. Lesson learned in a hurry on my end! (tho not before I did the same w/a Babe Ruth autograph from another auction house, Pioneer Auction Gallery in Oregon. Steer very very clear of them.)

If they hide behind the "as-is/where-is" then point them here as the publicity they receive can be daunting.  There is a thread ongoing with regards to Pioneer Auction

Maybe they should consider chaning their name from Monday Night Auctions to Midnight Sales!

Karin, You can also file a report with AuctionZip and let them know that this auction house is selling less than stellar items. You can cross-reference him with Liveauctioneers.com as well and file a complaint with them if he lists on both sites. If enough people complain about questionable COAs, these online auction sites will have to do what Proxibid recently did, refuse to allow those things to be sold on their site.

Let us know how it ends up.

I suggest you read many of our opinions of these folks both on here and on net54. If you post pictures before the auction these guys will help you.
