This is currently being bid on. I asked for provenance, and they came back saying what is on the site is all they have. What is on the site is...

A Hard Day’s Night soundtrack album signed on the back cover in black ballpoint, “George Harrison,” “Paul McCartney,” “John Lennon,” and “Ringo Starr.” Scattered toning and foxing to back cover, and scattered creases and surface marks to front cover, otherwise fine condition. The record is included. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA, grading the Lennon, McCartney, and Starr signatures “8,” and the Harrison signature a “9.” Also accompanied by a letter of authenticity from noted Beatles expert Frank Caiazzo, which reads, in part: “These signatures date from 1964, shortly after the album was released. ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ is a highly desirable title to have signed by the Beatles…the ultimate in any true fan’s collecting experience…very few documented examples of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ autographed by the Beatles exist, and in fact, only 6 copies of this extremely rare and desirable title signed by the band have surfaced to date.” Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.

Steve,

that one that you posted has more typical Beatles signatures from that time period.  my first instinct was the same as yours, only the Harrison looked like a no brainer. the rest seemed to be a little different.

Here are four Beatles sets from 1964 and 1965, from the Beatles signature study Frank Caiazzo did for us. See if they help:

I dont think anyone signed for anyone else. It looks to me like John, Paul and Ringo may have signed standing up without anything solid to lay the album against.

There was a Please Please Me uploaded a few months ago where Paul signed for Ringo. Does anyone remember where it is? Please place a link if you do. Thanks.

I think you're right about John and Ringo. The "R" in "Ringo" looked odd to me, but I now see how it turned out that way. The rest of the signature looks fine.

the Ringo yes......the Lennon is way off.  I mean WAY off. the slant, the letters in John, the "o" in Lennon,......maybe it looks better in person. for the sake of the buyer, I certainly hope so.

I think it's just rushed and signed while the album was being held without support, but you're right that it's atypical. Frank Caiazzo is going to do another signature study for us. Why don't you keep copies of anything signatures you've got questions about and I'll send them to him when he's ready to start? If there are similar examples of that Lennon, he'll probably have them. He has thousands of Beatles exemplars.

Bingo...thank you Travis! That's a Ringo autograph by Paul from 1963. I'm sure Paul got better at it by 1964, but it's quite a bit different.

Here's a Hard Day's Night signed album at Paul Fraser's, £35,000:
