I may have been signed in January 1995, but not by Mantle. IMO

LOL !

Same old fake style we've seen thousands of times.

Typical, horrific Mickey Mantle forgery that we have seen by the thousands over the years!!!!  Just an ugly forgery!!!!

Gotta laugh a bit when the sellers of these forgeries offer "Free Priority Shipping."  Who wouldn't want their forgery shipped quickly!!!!  This crap continues to infect the hobby!!!!

Ball also comes with ultra pro ball cube so your fake can be protected...LOL...that thing is a horrific fake that like Chris states are in the thousands if not 10's of thousands...

That is one expensive pro ball cube!!!

With all of these references to the above Ebay item, what are the qualifications for saying this auto is not real? Not being mean, would just like to know. This was my listing and had it pulled by Ebay. Had a COA from NVA, who I know is no PSA or JSA. If I thought it was a forgery or fake, it would not have been listed. I have a very good reputation on my Ebay listing and would like to keep it that way. I will be contacting PSA Quick opinion on this item. I have seen other items on Ebay and Aution houses selling autographed items with a NVA COA and they sold for quite a bit. Have never seen anyone say their items are fake. Are they on the EBAY excluded list?

Jim, these Mantle forgeries were produced in the thousands.  I'm not sure what you mean when you write "What are the qualifications for saying this is not real?"

The problem with fraud in the hobby, is that the fraudsters know that the majority of people who collect, buy and sell autographs, don't have a clue about autographs.  That's why forgeries easily outnumber authentic autographs.

An autograph isn't about the COA, it's about the autograph itself.  Ebay took the correct action in pulling that Mantle.  Go to the below link and take the time to scan the various Mantle, Williams and DiMaggio forgeries.  It takes quite a bit of time (years) to learn about autographs.

I have no idea who NVA is or what they do, but they are not on Ebay's Banned COA list.  But that Mantle is certainly not authentic.

Send it to PSA.

Don't egg the poor guy to send it to PSA or Quick opinion for that matter.

I have purchased a fake 8 x 10 Mantle in the past with the NVA cert. years ago. A piece of crap cert for a piece of crap. I'd rather have an authentic item with NO CERT. Fudd (formally the Lowly Mantle collector)

Fudd, what does NVA stand for?  I'm thinking North Vietnamese Army but that's probably not right.

Not Very Authentic
