Maybe banned is a little too strong, as they do have some authentic items.  But this one should definitely be pulled.

Here is the story I've gotten so far.

I went over to sportsmemorabilia.com and had an online chat with a customer rep.  According to Klaus, Ebay seller smcomstore is not their (sportsmemorabilia.com) Ebay ID.  I printed the entire chat log.

That Mantle/Maris autographed piece is also on www.sportsmemorabilia.com

According to Klaus over at sportsmemorabila.com, the Mantle/Maris signed piece comes with a full JSA LOA.  I asked him to provide it.  He did not.  He did state that he would send it to my email address.  So far nothing.

I also spotted this crap over at sportsmemorabila.com.  Look at this ugly Mantle forgery.  According to Klaus "It is not a forgery."  I wasn't aware that Klaus knows autographs.  Seriously?

My understanding of SportsMemorabilia.com is they basically have some sort of program that scans other websites selling stuff, adds 15%, then posts it on their own site. I figured this out because they have a lot of Rich Altman stuff which Rich sells on his own site for a lower price than that quoted on SMC.

Another thing... someone should direct Klaus to their return policy:

I'm almost tempted to buy one of their "less expensive" forgeries, just so I can send it back and "break up the no-hitter", 12 years without a return for authenticity.......I'm sure.

First of all these autos are just sick junk...great find Terrier....as for that company saying they never had anything returned it is any easy way to comfort some one not knowing what there purchasing in the first place...its easy to say...

that right there has got to be the worst advertisement slogan I have ever seen...it is should be...

Buy are fakes and when you find out nothing we sell is authentic your singed ball can now have a double use as chew toy for your dog and we will gladly issue a refund...

$3k might be a hefty investment...   the telling sign that they might be one and the same is they use the just call us at our 800 number 7 days a week.  A similar service used by sportsmemorabilia.com.

Of course, they might not be one and the same and just using a similar service.  I am still waiting (now several months) for the sportsmemorabilia service rep to get back to me on all those secretarial signed charlton hestons.  At that time they simply indicated they were an ordering center for a "warehouse".  Most likely virtual as opposed to brick & mortar.

If you look at their Heston offerings there are several that have been bounced or still pop up on EBAy from other sellers...  Since they typically have more than one then it's either the buyers are reselling the sportsmemorabilia.com items on EBAy or sportsmemorabilia.com is selling them virtual warehouse style or most likely Both.

as far as sportsmemorabilia.com goes all one need to do is an AML search as there are a plethora of commentary on them - none favorable when last I looked.

There are only a few possibilities to explain an exact match;

T8H -  the reason I believe Williams has hit the nail on the head (or pretty damn close)

 

is evidenced in a boyhood hero up for sale by this seller...  Some of these have readable cert numbers while many don't.   In this instance the JSA cert number checks out.  The first picture is what smcomstore is depicting (although they claim 5 available, they only show 1 cert #, an EBAY Policy Violation) but in the one they show it matches up exactly cert and all with one being sold on sportsmemorabilia.com and it's cheaper $116.99.

Ebay seller smcomstore posted the following Auction LOA which doesn't mean squat.  Both the Mantle & Maris signatures are horrific at best, and in my opinion, penned by one person.

There is no way that PSA or JSA would issue a full LOA of those Mantle/Mantle signatures.  I do know that PSA has abandoned the practice of issuing Auction LOAs years ago.
