I have never seen a Steiner authenticated Mickey Mantle signed item. I'm concerned about the c and the k in Mickey. The area where the c and k connect isn't right and the arc of the top of the c is way too much. Opinions?

Looks ok to me.  IMO

Steve, what makes you say that Steiner authenticated this item?  Does it come with a Steiner COA?  Many of the vintage items that they sell today come with either PSA or JSA authentication.

Yes, it has the Steiner hologram and cert. The hologram, of course, is hard to see if it is real in an online photo.

I dont like it at all

Not crazy about it, but can't say with any certainty. The somewhat squat looking "antle" bothers me. Either a relatively skilled fake or a somewhat "loose" authentic example.

I'd like to see a crisp, super closeup so I could see the flow of the ink and discern speed better. It may be telling.

this is one of those that even if it were authentic, I would not want it in my collection

I couldn't agree more. When many textbook, slam dunk, no-doubters are available, why pick the dented can? Even if it's $100 less than FMV, question marks are never worth it.

As an avid Steiner buyer and collector...this seriously has got to be the worst Mantle I ever seen Steiner authenticate....the bad formations are far greater then the good ones...something very wrong with this piece...I have seen some Steiner Mantles that where in stellar condition...but this one is just terrible to say the least...I feel this may be someone slapping there own steiner hologram onto a bad piece...

I agree. It has been on ebay for a few days. They have the Steiner hard card as well.
I agree, this is one to stay away from.
The only reason it would have a Steiner hologram would be if it were from the Greer Johnson collection, and the coa would say as much.

Thanks Mike T.
