JSA is passing fake autographs by the hundreds for eBay seller dirty_water_ink

musicandmore-nyc and gothamcitygraphs

Study these autographs protect yourself!!

I came across these two sites while searching eBay. Not a single item is authentic, I am almost sure that this is the same forgery ring that circulated the mass amount of forgeries that GAI was passing 1-2 years back, you may be familiar with the eBay name dirty_water_ink, well I am no professional but I can say that I fell victim to a forgery sold by that seller and since then I dedicated some of my free time to study the forgeries they were producing to protect myself (even after they changed their user I.D. to hide) probably more than anyone I know, and I am 100% sure that this is dirty_water_ink, only this time JSA is passing the items!!!!!!! Shame on you JSA. I guess it is true what they say about the company being ran by children!

How can JSA be considered more credible than GAI if they are passing the same forgeries that GAI stopped passing?

Rick,

When you say the fakes you're referring to were authenticated by GAI, do you mean just GAI or GAI and GA?

I am not Steve Sipe, nor do I want to be Steve Sipe, nor would I want to be any of these JSA crooks that claim to be a expert. The fact of the matter is every item that was certified by JSA for those two - brand new 0 feedback ebay sites is FAKE and the exact same trash GAI survived on. I pay pretty close attention and I haven't seen these styles of autographs being certified by GAI anymore, only JSA now. There is NOT a single real autograph on those sites. You can sit here and defend JSA all you want but you can't defend those autographs they certified, you just cant - THEY ARE FAKE. I have no confidence in GAI and I definitely don't trust JSA anymore and I suggest you do the same.

Rick,

Why don't you post some of the forgeries and comparisons with real ones? That will do more to convince people than anything else.

Do you have confidence in GA?

Precisely my question Wascher. Rick, whats your personal opinion on GA and Steve Sipe?

I honestly thought this site was about exposing forgeries, I think sportscollectors.net is a better avenue. Honestly its a shame anyone would defend those JSA certified autographs.

Its the way you are going about it Rick/Steve, or whoever you are. The text message Steve posted, pretty much proves it in my eyes. But even if your not Sipe, your attitude in a few of your posts was condesending to the members here, just b/c they didnt initially get your outrage over the subject.

It seems you were correct and these items are forgeries, and Roger seemed to agree. So props on exposing it. But, at least in my opinion, and as i said before,  and probably in any seasoned collectors opinion as well, there is NO comparison of GAI or GA to JSA/PSA. I too have lost some confidence in JSA and PSA over the years, and buying on brand is no longer something i do. I buy after studying the autograph, although a PSA/JSA sticker is often a confidence booster.

But the Facts are that for every error JSA/PSA makes, GAI/GA makes so so many more. It could be due to the enormous staff of GA, who knows. Coincidentally Rick, would you mind telling us your opinions of GA and Steve Sipe just for the record? You obviously are an educated collector, so surely you have a well informed opinion of GA and Sipe.

I am happy you brought this up, and if the JSA guys who certed these are doing it for profit, then hopefully they can be fired due to your efforts. But your statement about GAI being equal to JSA, is not just wrong, its totally absurd and ludicrous. As a collector you know the damage GAI did to this hobby, and still does for that matter. JSA goofs up, sometimes bad, but putting GAI in there league of accuracy is about like putting a t ball player in the same league as Ruth. There is no comparison.

Could this all be coincidence with that text message to Steve? Possibly, but i think the odds that this thread popped up right after that text message, and that its not authored by Steve Sipe or some goon from the defunct ANL, are about the same as GAI being near the league of JSA.

To me this sounds like JSA beat out GA on a "cert all this crap" deal, and someone isn't happy about it... Interesting to say the least.

Sounds plausible Ryan. Regardless of who made this thread, this is actually great that this came out. If there is any truth to JSA certing these items blindly then maybe we can get the problem taken care of. Especially since Roger knows the company owner personally. This is interesting. And if Sipe created this thread for whatever reason, then good, underhandedness is underhandedness and JSA is not immune

Imagine having to fake a id so you can post because your reputation is horrible.

Whether Rick Johnson is himself, Steve Sipe or someone else, 1,000 certified forgeries can't be ignored.

Rich, Carl and Chris: Would you mind trying to round up members good in each area to take a careful look at the autographs and report back? I'm too busy at the moment to do that.
