"New Jersey Couple Charged With Selling Fake Cards on eBay"

Here is an article about a New Jersey couple that was recently charged for selling fake trading cards on eBay (non-autos).

They were charged with:
*Theft by Deception
*Impersonation
*Computer Related Theft

PSA/DNA confirmed the items were counterfeit replicas.

My question, if this can be done for trading cards, are the forgery rings such as "The Auto Scouts" next?

Here are a few links to the story:

Seems like this started as eBay shutting down their accounts (similar to what they do with "The Auto Scouts") and they would immediately make a brand new eBay ID. However it got to the point where they registered the eBay ID and PayPal info to a person whose identity they stole in order to protect themselves.

These scammers do anything they can to continue getting "free" money and avoid getting a "real job".

Thanks for sharing..hopefully these types of busts continue!

Still can't figure out how Coach's Corner still operates..maybe the "US Postal Inspection Services" needs to be contacted.

Meanwhile, Lee Trythall and Scott Malack are laughing all the way to the bank!

I have seen counterfeit cards before.  and its easy to tell the difference......usually.  l guess this guy had it down to a science?

I'm not sure what his "technique" is, but as you know "The Auto Scouts" forgeries look like they are penned by a squirrel, and morons still buy them...

The fact is the Police should have a full-time eBay fraud squad. There are hundreds of forgers all over the world operating daily and profiting, many as Ryan said look like they were penned by a squirrel.

Thanks for sharing this story Ryan.

I wish they would publish all of their Ebay account names for the people who have bought from them. Jerks.

Yet eBay allow forgers to sell for years with no issue
