Oh wow, I guess I haven't heard that, but am not too surprised (If I picture him being like his character from What About Bob!)

I think an autograph hound tell all book could be a huge hit.
I'd buy and read that.

He was nice to me.  He misunderstood me and wrote "Marco" at first.  When I corrected him he crossed it off and wrote "Michael".  I asked for a new photo and he obliged.  It was not until I left that I realized that I had paid for two autographs, but that was not his fault.  I was immediately refunded for one upon my return.  He wanted to discuss civics with me after the signing.  When I returned he only had a brief moment for a discussion.

The person in front of me asked him to sign a Jaws poster.  After he signed it he used the black Sharpie to color in one of the shark's teeth.  Very odd.  I would have been upset about it if it were my poster.

I met him at a comic convention in New York City.

His first convention in NYC he showed up at 10am already drunk.

Years before that I waited outside a play he was doing in Paul Newman's Wesport Country Playhouse. I said hello to Jill Clayburgh as she got in her car and left and then standing there all alone, I watched as Dreyfuss walked right over to where I was and stood there in the dark just looking around the lot, it was just the 2 of us, not another soul. I told him that I had been a fan for decades and asked if he would mind signing a quick autograph. He said yeah no problem, just give him a minute. He turned and walked back into the building and 1 minute turned into 10.  Then I heard a car pulling out of the lot from the other side of the building and watched as Dreyfuss looked out the passenger window and smiled as the car sped by me.

He chose to walk thru a dark & closed building out to the other side of parking lot just to avoid signing a single autograph for a fan.

Great guy!

I must have met him once he had sobered up.  That is a horrible story Pete.

Sounds like a John Fogerty experience I had.

Hey Guys, figured I haven't posted in a while.  I've added a few pieces over the past 9 months or so.  Clemente, Jackie, Cy and Wagner were all guys I've had targeted on my list for quite some time (years), just wanted to share the newest additions!  Now I need to find pictures and figured out framing!

Tremendous finds, Kevin.

Nice items. The Clemente looks off to me but I am certainly not an expert on Clemente. It just looks very different from most authenticated examples I have seen and looks very much like a clubhouse version from a Pirate baseball I once owned. The other 3 are very nice examples. Congrats on some nice additions to your collection.

Hey Randy, yeah I sorta felt the same way when I first saw it as I was more familiar with his side by side examples. After comparing it to his top over bottom signatures, the slant, flow and spontaneity felt right, so I went for it. I've also seen several variations on his signature similar too this, and albeit not the boldest or best example out there (the bolder signatures were well into the $2k range) I'm pretty comfortable with it as most of the key components and letter formation seem right to me, but I'm open to opinions on it. It is additionally authenticated by PSA/DNA but that's just a side point.
