Michael Jackson drawings (Miscell inc. 'Historic portraits' and 'Disney characters')

I'm noticing a sudden influx of MJ signed Michael Jackson drawings coming on to the auction market, which seem to share the common themes of either 'portraits of historical figures'  or 'Disney characters'.

Both of these themes are of course recognised from Michaels' drawings both at a young age and later in life, but it is interesting that so many new drawings are being released on to the market at the same time.

Here are some current examples:

A few weeks ago I was looking up images of Michael Jackson autographs (which I do every single day for the most part) and came across these two pieces that I had not remembered seeing anywhere (but they hit me immediately)  It is the SAME style "our boy" used in the artwork that started this whole thread... as well as award notes, notes to Bob etc, and matches perfectly.  No i, directly into a c

Here is one of the collages I did earlier of those signatures, showing the Mch (complete lack of i in Michael).

The two pics were found on the Michael Bush/Juliens discussion back in 2012, where Wendy Christine pointed out they were found on eBay & that she thought they resembled other forgeries out on the market.  We were discussing fake COA's.  HERE

I saved the two pics and sent them to a few people working on this with me to let them know "our boy" had been "working" this same exact style "autograph" as early as 2012.

Here comes the fun part.

This item now shows up on eBay this past week here   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-double-Michael-Jackson-Autograph-Photo...   (the top pic in the piece is the same one as above of the two).  The cert was not in the Juliens thread, but others were that were like it (the cert is bad too imo).

I look thru the sellers items, and he has an Erick McKay forgery also.  That one is listed here:   http://www.ebay.com/itm/281588788871

So I decide to write to the seller -  I ask him on the original piece that matches the artwork sigs (not the Erick one) what the history is on the piece.

Seller:  It's signed in blue permanent marker by Michael Jackson. It's an original hand signed signature. The photo is from the Jackson 5 era. The best part about it is the certificate of authenticity is signed in black marker. I haven't seen any of these pictures with a certificate like this. Both are in excellent condition. I could sign them separately, but I want them to stay together. The woman I purchased them from got them directly from Michael. Her cousin worked at Never Land for Michael. I hope that helps you. Also the framing is an air tight frame to stop it from any weather and special UV glass.
Ok immediate red flag is the Freudian slip saying "I could sign them separately, but". ... Whoops (thanks Liz for spotting that after I sent it to you :).

The second red flag is that the story is identical to other Erick stories.  Erick had a few stories when he first started this mess... one was that he had a mother, aunt, or relative working at the Estate as a housekeeper, cook, or gardener, and that's how the sigs were obtained--in person by someone working at Neverland.   So I reply.

Me:  Did this come from song_jack ? Just curious. An eBay seller out of LA area.

Seller:    No it did not , I do know of him too.  why is he not trustworthy?

Me:  you have an item that you got from him here:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/281588788871   Its a forgery by him. I hope you did not pay a lot.

There is a long pause where he does not respond for awhile (Erick did this on his Miguel Jackson fb when I busted him there)

Seller:  Are you interested in buying it or authentification? are you a buyer or just looking ? You want to make an offer

I don't respond for awhile - just get more messages.

Seller:  I did not buy it from him

And again I don't respond....

Seller:  I saw his stuff up as I am a fan of michaels

I finally respond...

Me:   Nah, thanks man but I don't want a forgery.    No matter, its from him, I am 10000% sure.

Take care Erick!

I've not gotten a response since

When I first started investigating these autographs I told Steve I wasn't ready to move the thread to it's own discussion because I felt like Erick was involved somehow (Liz also thought several sigs looked like Ericks, the Mickey Mouse with the star on the M of "Michael" was one of them, plus a few others).  Mem Vault also sold items from Erick previously--and when they said they took EVERYTHING of his down (when I emailed them), they lied, and had a piece up yet of McCartney which I found later, and again had them yank it.

Then when the artwork showed up, I contacted Prashant and said, hey these don't look good, they look traced and look like Erick is involved (Prashant I still think your Mickey is an Erick).  Prashant wrote to MV and they said no, these are directly from Corey, not his mouse, not sure where they told him that was from

The problem though is this... how are the notes with this writing being matched up to the awards?  I've wanted to tie these to Erick since the beginning but I'm still not sure they are... we know Jason is involved - absolutely without question on the award pieces.  But there are multiple signatures going on here that are slightly different than each-other, yet still have something familiar too.

Just something new to look at.   Michael Frost take a look at my first link, it looks like Wendy was trying to match these current sigs up to the 100 covers by MJ that had a COA to it.  Is this the same grouping of items you thought were familiar to you too?  I still don't know if I see it, but these are the closest they've come for me.  (the Jackson part mainly)

Here is a 'Top Hat' Mickey drawing in black pen, again from avatar1000marinela, on ebay Italy, in late Feb 15.  There is a COA from 'rareandsigned', but I cannot tell at the moment if this is genuine or faked.  The asking price is 499 euros.  Here is the link:

(I wonder if there is an original of this cartoon, in '94 or before... )

That's funny, Lizzie.

Yep, they just keep tracing and churning out the cheesiest simplest "draw mickey mouse" sketches you can find online and call them real.... plop them on eBay and whalaa   I just don't get people like this and how they can sleep at night.

Mickey has been on his travels- all the way to Australia.  This (in the white frame) is on ebay usa at 700 Australian dollars, seller sports2you2011 (edit by mod, ebay user sports2you2011 changed their name to allthingsgood63 ) in Melbourne.

This 'hand on hip' Mickey appears to be from the 'badly traced' series.  There is apparently a 'COA', but it is not described or included in the item photographs.

This Mickey pose was last seen at the memorabilia vault in October 14:

This new version seems to have teeth; more a grimace than a smile.  Maybe because the price has reduced from mem vaults (blue tracing above) asking price of £3,000.

Wascher
This seller sports2you2011 has been selling fake autographs for a looooong time
Please can you look through his sold items at his michael jackson items and see if any are authentic. I know in the past he has sold many items with Rareandsigned coas

He has sold dozens of fake michael Jordan autographs. I tried to add links but they have expired on eBay.

Wow that autograph is awful lol.  Thanks Lizzie and Carlos for also chiming in.   I see the vest he just sold is signed by the same person who signed Mickey.
