I wanted to get the thoughts of others on the Jim Morrison items this seller has listed. There are a few high end items listed by the seller.

That piece has been around for quite some time. I don't believe it to be authentic.

Why, in particular?  If you go to the Densmore site, there is a lot of Jim's handwritten poetry.  I have a number of saved images of other writings, and the handwriting appears to be identical.  It's not like this is a handwritten set of lyrics to one of the Doors' most popular songs.  This is another among many of the poetic writings of a rather prolific author, given his short lifespan in the limelight.

That being said, the signed Grateful Dead album in the seller's store appears to be an outright forgery.

It's slowly and shakily written throughout, and the signature at the top is an obvious forgery in my opinion.

I will not make a forger's handbook but as its been pointed out its shaky.

I don't think this is real also. It is too neat for Jim's writing! If you look at any of his authentic handwritten poems and manuscripts, the words are written on blank sheets and he naturally wrote at slight angles because of this. This writing is uniformed and looks to be slowly copied. The doodles are too neat also!

The Doors are my favorite group. I know Morrison writing. This is a nice attempt, but it's fake.

When I first saw this piece a while ago at first glance I thought it could be real but it's not unfortunately. Looking closer, you will see it is indeed slowly done and if you break down certain words and compare them to Jim's known writings, it becomes very clear its fake. Whoever did this got greedy with the signature. As Ballroom stated its an obvious fake and is the dead giveaway that it's not real in my opinion. Agree with Josh though,it's a good attempt.... Jack...

This seller has another piece of poetry for sale as well. That piece looks bad, very bad.  They also have a copy of his birth certificate.

I think this is a good attempt and on first glance looks decent. I did not study it in any way but my initial impression was that it had a chance. When I saw some of the other items they listed I knew it was probably not worth spending any more time on.

I do like the poetry though. For those non-Doors fanatics, this poem is on the ninth Doors studio album, "An American Prayer." I love it.

All these are fake Chad.

The authentic original from which the fake was copied is pictured on page 120 of the book "The American Night - The Writings of Jim Morrison Volume 2."

Well, that would pretty much resolve the issue.  Thanks.
