When I Was A Kid Frank Gifford Was A Lot Nicer Signer Than Joe DiMaggio

My tribute in Forbes to Frank Gifford. I wish I still had his autograph. He signed beautifully. 

I remember DiMaggio being okay at card shows in the 80s. He didn't cause any scenes like Willie reportedly did.

I met Frank at a few signings in the early 2000s. He was a big name in being successful in his playing and broadcasting career and in pop culture with being married to Kathy Lee, so he was a name even non-sport fans would know. He never gave the impression he was better than the fans or the games. He was so friendly, engaging in small or long talk and taking pleasure in making sure he signed the fans items appropriately.

For the most part, he was always a free signer ttm, and only when charging, the proceeds were for charity. It's always a shame when someone passes but especially a good guy like Frank.
