I have a Batman and Robin signed photo and PSA authenticated it, but they put the sticker upside down from the way I want it displayed.  The photo is of them climbing a building.  Really cool photo, but I want to display as if they are really climbing the building.  They did sign it the other way though.. :(

Is there anyway to remove the sticker, with out damaging the photo.  Its a glossy 11x14.

thanks and any input.

Try a hairdryer on a very low heat, I use this for removing old price tags on toys, however, this could damage the sticker, so be very carefull

I have done this on some images of mine that had the AFTAL hologram on the picture I used a hairdryer on the low heat and use some tape to remove the residue that was left over and then a micro fibre cloth to Finnish of the process.

thanks for input!

I am probably going to frame this and the sticker going the wrong way will just get on my nerves.  lol..

The sticker destroys the whole photo, can't psa place it on the back?
I'd leave it the way it is ! would not want to damage the photo.

A Very nice piece :)

Thanks John -

I did a screen shot from the new BluRay to get that photo.  It too a while to find the right shot of them, in the same frame and not be blurry.  But it was worth it.

I'm talking from what i heard someone did to their autograph.
Never ever touch heat to photo, it will 99% ruin it. I don't know how these miracle workers did it
but most likely any heat will damage the photo.

Also it's in a top loader where it belongs ;)

I will test with another photo (same type) with heat to see how it reacts to heat.

Will keep everyone posted.

thanks for all the replies!

I would leave the sticker alone Mark.  When you frame the piece you can always crop the photo with a mat and cover it.

I absolutely HATE seeing these hideous TPA stickers on nice pieces, it infuriates me. Like Mike said I would probably just crop it out with a matte if it were mine.

Mark, I know exactly how you feel, that would drive me nuts too, first thing I would look at. PSA did the same thing to my Pink Floyd signed album. Luckily the sheen on the album was still present enough for the sticker to be removed and a micofiber cloth used to clean it up. A new sticker was placed on the back side.

As for the photo, I would not use heat, but like you mentioned, practicing on an unsigned photo is a good idea.

Great idea on using a screen shot, you have a one of a kind. Great choice for the scene!
I've used this method on a ball with good results. Carefully work up a bit of the edge of the sticker with a razor blade and then using a Q-tip work some Goo Gone underneath it. Gently lift the edge with tweezers and work more Goo Gone underneath. The sticker will break apart and it may be a tedious process. But with patience you get it off chunk by chunk. The Goo Gone will safely dissolve the adhesive and will not harm a glossy photo.
