Here's a signed poster that I'm sure most of you guys have already seen.It was sold on rr a while back and more recently on iconic. The first picture is of the piece in its original untouched condition.the second picture is of the same piece with major restoration work to it.The owner was asking me if I was Interested in buying it.With that kind of work done to a piece such as this, should I totally pass on it.How much can this effect the value?

Good idea, Paul. But most of all, talk to Tracks. They are extremely good and beyond reproach.
I'm also going to call and talk to Jason at tracks on Monday about the piece.they are always very accomidating.
Steve, what made the person with the photo say, this photo isnt right? There's something odd about the photo?
iMO, restoration doesn't sit well with me in general. The history of a piece (tattered, torn or faded) I saw the star spangle banner completely missing pieces in the Smithsonian...I don't think it ever was an option to sew it back together and restore it.

That added with it not being revealed to be restored makes me more uneasy. It is up to a collector what they are collecting for, The signatures are nice and it is a set of Beatles signatures and that being said is still cool.
I like those American pickers because they like the rust and dirt on the stuff they buy.
Autograph pickers!
I feel the same way with records too. I like to see the age of the stuff I collect, We all start to show our age, 50 year old signatures should too...No botox!:)
Haha botox.

In the US we call these items "much loved". And indeed the love is reflected in the holes in the corner of the poster, the rust under a staple, the small pen mark on the corner, etc  all reflect reverence and affection for geniuses (at least to your ear) that is the reason the rest of the world also reveres these people. Don't erase it!

It appears they have been altered and some removed.

Eric

The seller just emailed me stating that he will furnish the tracks loa on Monday, meanwhile here is the tracks loa description he just gave me.

The Beatles signed poster
A large colour poster autographed by the Beatles
I'n blue ballpoint pen.Paul McCartney has signed his name four times and John Lennon has added 'to Paul with love' above his name. The signatures were obtained at Brasenose college,Oxford,England on march5th1964 during the filming of 'A Hard Days Night',measures 50cmx30.5cm (19.75 inches x 12 inches). The poster is In fine condition having undergone professional restoration.

So there is the tracks description.

Beautiful, to bad the seller didn't mention that even though it stated on the tracks loa. Id would personally ask Jason and go from there, I wouldn't ask Jamie.

I was thinking the same thing,I was actually believing this guy that he actually didn't know about the resto, how in the world could he have not seen the discripion talking about the restoration.
I'm gonna call and talk to Jason on Monday, will keep you all posted.
