Rather own a Harley.

Me too!!
For that money, I'd rather have a choice single-signed Babe Ruth baseball or a super nice Beatles album signed by the entire Fab Four.

Or how about a loaded Honda Accord? It's a very dependable car - just sayin'.
Forget the Ruth or the Beatles album.....get the Honda!!!

Agree and agree - there are much better ways to spend that $. Interestingly, the hair was cheaper than an 80's watch owned by Steve Jobs. Expected I'm sure, but interesting. I wonder how this hair would compare to "Instant Karma! hair", this being "How I Won the War hair" (clipped from the remaining "moptop" of 1966). This reminds me of the Lennon tooth. None of that stuff is for me. I draw the line at a bit of the Lusitania's hull, or roof tiles and porcelain wire nuts and plates from homes in Hiroshima - I have both but they are not quite this personal. I bet many in here have this or that from Hindenburg etc.

I saw that watch too,it was nothing but a cheap Seiko watch ,the description said it had a very worn leather bad insinuating that Jobs really wore the watch a lot.I think that's why it sold so high.
Personally I would still want the Honda ,it really is a very dependable car.lol.

I wonder if you can make more money off of it by selling individual strains. All the owner needs to do is partner up with a reputable Beatles seller (Tracks or Perry Cox), get them to make COA's, and there you go.

Great idea, sell them for 500.00 per strand.

If each strand still has DNA on them, women  few years from now will lining up to have Lennon's baby

This is common with ocean liner memorabilia. Some dealers with buy an 8' length of molding from say Mauretania or Olympic, cut it into 2" bit and sell. There are two sides to this argument - i feel pulled to one. Especially when something of true importance is chopped up. I can't display a 10' foot long 5" wide strip, but at least make the chopped sections contain one repeat or so. This is done with decking as well as panels and molding - pine and teak. Boxes, pens, etc. Not my cup of tea. A bit of treen made and engraved in 1935 in Scotland during the scrapping of a vessel is one thing, having something you can not verify is another. I suppose a rough analogy would be cutting out that George from the photo last week. To me it had more context as a single item (it also was not 8' long...).

That is what the buyer Paul Fraser is doing!!! :)

But I can let you in on the secret.

I am selling a strictly limited number of the John Lennon hair strands I bought.

Just 10 in fact.

This is your chance to buy one of the 10 today (you will receive your hair in around six weeks - it will take the auction house a few weeks to deliver the lock to me).
