"P.S This Mantle ball is mine. I'll never have to worry about selling it." - John
Well, it has made at least 3 or 4 appearances on eBay...what's up there? From is...performance I might agree, you don't have to worry about selling it.
Eric
"And Why wouldn't someone want it?"
I could be wrong, but that might be tied to the performance I mentioned...$570, $495, $375 and $345...that is $140 is restock fees potentially..$295 comes next? I'm telling you, wait till next week to buy it again - you are set for a real bargain. Or, perhaps you are the seller. Hmm...Don't know or care.
Eric
What I'd really like to know? Why,some of you, thought it was a forgery. What brought you,to that conclusion?
Terrier and I never called it a forgery, because we knew it was a "Gotcha" thread.
You're right, Chris.You didn't.
John,
I'll give my answer once you explain what is was doing on eBay twice in the last 2 weeks or so. Which price did you buy it for? $570? $495? Did you really buy it? Do you really own it?
Eric
just curious, you said "I need expert opinions, here!!!!! (not sure if I captured all of the exclamation points).
if you knew the origin, why did you "need expert opinions"?
I was not aware that Mr. Mantle sold baseballs.
I heard that the people on this forum are the "Cream of the Crop" at determining Genuine autos from fake ones. Wanted to see how good you all are.
AND,I meant, he was given the autograph and I purchased it. No,Mantle didn't sell Baseballs. Wow! You're a real sharp one,Terrier.Nothing gets past you.
Photos just like these (the red background, cropped just so) are on eBay with all sorts of forged signatures. I hope that you are not the owner of all those awful FORGERIES John.

Mr. Spillane. I'm not sure what your actual intentions are but why come on a site that offers free opinions for collectors and tries to help people from getting ripped off. I'm sure sometimes an opinion or two here can be incorrect but overall they are rock solid. If you already knew the signed ball was authentic then why do you need the members here? Pay a TPA and get a marketable COA if that floats your boat. Your point is pointless just as the opinions on this site are just opinions. Nothing more nothing less.
