This Freddie Mercury autograph was given to me as a gift a few years back. The older friend, and an experienced autograph collector, had it in his possession from his sister, who got this signed in person, as he told me.  I have no reason to believe he was lying.

I have to sell in unfortunately and I was either going to send it to PSA/JSA first, because I know many buyers/bidders will claim it to be fake, etc. I decided to put it on eBay instead and within a few hours, received a message claiming it was 110% fake. I truly do not believe this to be the case, but decided to take it down to eventually send to PSA/JSA when I get the extra $100, to make sure.

I wanted to ask for everyones opinion on this item. The sister wrote when and where it was obtained. At this time, I do have it matted and framed. Any opinions are welcome, but I will still eventually send it to PSA/JSA. Thanks guys! I have seen many examples on google etc....which are VERY similar to what I have,

I encourage you to follow through. And if he does say it's "likely genuine", if I were you, I would pay him for a full authentication. You will have peace of mind forever and, if you decide to sell it in the future, the signature will have rock solid documentation to add value to the signature. Please, let us know of the results. It will a value for others here is the future as well. Good luck!

I agree about getting an online opinion from Epperson, and I would use him for the full authentication if he likes it. PSA/DNA is a huge presence in the field--everyone knows about them---but Epperson is highly respected in classic rock, so I think it'll bring at least the same money it would with PSA/DNA authentication.

I have sent to Epperson. We shall find out.

I think it's genuine. I'm pretty confident it is.

Thank you, Steve Cyrkin. :)

Epperson will give it a ff.
Fabulous freddie or
Forged freddie.
Lets see.

There is a weirdness/hesitance/strangeness in the "M" starting about 60% of the way into letter. I have very little Mercury experience, but it seems unnatural. Much of what I am looking at is a bit more fluid. My guess is someone in between fan and Freddie, like Mal or Neil or etc.

Eric

...and yet very different :)

A.B is right. Very different. The letters in Freddie are all too close together. The two Ds are much too short and strangely shaped. The Mercury is too short. The M isn't right and doesn't have the same flow or hand movement as it should and the Y...come on. Sorry but no. Not very similar in my opinion at all.

I'll leave it to you folks who study Mercury intensely then.

Any results from roger?

Sent to Epperson and got a No....Sent to PSA for a quick opinion and got an "Likely Genuine". I sent it to a few auction sites for their opinion and one emailed back today and said he passed it on to their autograph authentication guy and again, Authentic. They want to put it in their April catalog for Auction. They are a PSA Authorized and get a lot of their items authenticated by PSA before auction. I am satisfied because of the responses I got not only on here with opinions but great answers from others outside of here.
