Ryan, it is disgusting that only a few of us really care about the autograph hobby.
Look at all of the scammers and morons buying into the AtAuction.com/GFA scam.
Is this them? http://psasportsauctions.com
Someone named Jim Johnson posted on their facebook page, and his profile image matches this companies logo.
and here's another link to their main facebook page https://www.facebook.com/psasportsauctions
When you look up the whois on jsasportsauctions.com, you come up with http://www.who.is/whois/psasportsauctions.com someone with the email address of amarr@atti.bi and phone of 763-553-2995 (business phone so I'm not giving out personal phone #'s)
Looking up the phone # on that page brings me to a person by the name of Jeff Marr (President) of PSA Charities and Fundraising http://www.bbb.org/minnesota/business-reviews/business-promotions-g...
The way they get around it is almost all buyers never complain because they'll never realize what they bought is fake. Either it's hanging up in their house or someone they bought for, and it's authenticity will never be in question because how it's framed up and it's COA. If anyone does question it, well that person is just jealous they didn't "win" the item. According to a PSA rep Robert talked to at The National, they can get around using the name and fooling people because the autograph department at PSA is technically PSA/DNA. It's a very sneaky tactic. Very discouraging seeing all those Robin Williams fake movie posters all going for big money, most already over a thousand. They seemed to hit every possible audience too with Good Wil Hunting to Mrs. Doubtfire to Aladdin. Of course all these just happened to be available 3-4 days after the man had passed away. These gym charity silent auction are just like all the forgers and scammers out there. Nothing is of limits and they have zero respect.
Great work, Wascher!!!
Yes, Jeff Marr is the president...he is even pictured on their website:
I know this is an older thread but glad i found it...
They are still HQ out of Maple Grove, MN. Won a silent auction item at a Champs bar in Eden Prairie from them, glad i found this web site before i paid. The item in question is a Neal Broten signed flag from 1980 Olympic team. Luckily he plays hockey for my friends charity event and I have plenty of signatures to compare from, including items from the 80's. Signature aside if the COA is not reputable then forget it (from what I'm reading here it won't be)
update...Went and checked out the item some more. Signature had a couple of issues, but it was signed on a flag and I'm no expert, but it looked too clean. the other signatures i can find...the N and B are fairly consistent, the e and a in Neal sorta run together This one didn't so much. Maybe cause of the material being signed on, maybe because he was younger and hadn't signed as much yet. However the COA is from JDM Authentics out of Plymouth, MN (one town south of Maple Grove) and is signed by Jeff Marr. who is also President of PSA Charities. So that sent off a red flag...the same guy runs both, I'm sure that's not a conflict of interest. Too many things not adding up, not buying this item.
