Hi gang:

I purchased this years ago. It is a old photo with some traces of silvering. It was certainly hand-signed as it is not a preprint.

I'm fairly certain the Blake is authentic as she was a pretty good signer. From what I have seen, the Arness looks good, however, I am not sure if he ever used a secretary or not.

Thoughts?

Arness has a website that you can go to and buy photos as well as badges and other stuff at a ok price. www.jamesarness.com .

I have two Arness autographs ( 1 personalized from his site and 1 from autograph world )  I can post scans if need be.

Gunsmoke is simply still the BEST T.V. show and Western EVER MADE!  I have the complete series on DVD copies and will buy ANYTHING Gunsmoke related

I even have the old Marx Gunsmoke playset.

Arness is a living legend and everyone should have his autograph.

I agree , Brandon

Stock up OR at least get 1 or 2 of the James Arness signed photos from his website.  Sadly, he is not all that well these days....

Plus, it makes him feel real good to hear from his fans.  I talked to his wife about this time last year via email.  She told me it hurt her husband to not be able to sign autographs for a while when he was ill, but loved all the letters of support.

I never knew he had a website.  Just went there to purchase a signed photo and it says that he is no longer signing.  They are no longer offering signed photo's.
Oh boy... not a good sign. I was just there maybe a week ago and they had the signed photos at that time.
By the way, I have a number of Arness autographs ordered through his site. However, the old age signatures are not really a good comparison to the signature above which may have been signed 40+ years ago. I'm having difficulty finding confirmed vintage signatures for comparison's sake.

I have one from Autograph World.  I'll post a pic later....I do believe that the above is authentic.  everything I see matches.

I REALLY hate to hear he isn't signing.  He is one of those people that you just KNOW you should buy one autograph a month from and you put it off and off and off....until something like this happens.

Looks real to me!
