With technology increasing at such a rapid rate it is only a matter of time before counterfeiters figure out some technological way to exactly duplicate a celebrity/athletes signature. I am talking about something much more advanced than an autopen. I hope I am wrong because nothing is more fun than collecting graphs but it seems inevitable that eventually it will be technologically possible to create an autograph that looks as if it came directly from the celebrity.
What do you all think the future of autographs will be? Do you think we will always have A means to authenticate past any new technology that counterfeiters will use. Do you think people will still collect autographs in 100 years? I am interested in what my peers have to say.

I love this hobby! With that said, I do not like the current state of the hobby at all. As for the future, there will always be a finite number of true collectors but, from what I see, there are far more autographs available than collectors. Except for a handful of truly scarce signatures, the values are in for a mighty fall. Big money has brought too many into this hobby for the wrong reason. Once they fall maybe there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
Great topic, Jason.
I also love this hobby, but I have no idea where it is going.
With Ebay being a haven for scammers, it is truly scary what the future holds.
