There is a George (Superman) Reeves allegedly signed photo authenticated by Frank Garo, item #150606315148 for $3495.  As a collector of George Reeves signatures, I can see it is clearly a fake, even though it is "authenticated" by Garo.

And I am pretty sure George was not signing dark, 3rd generation photos with gold sharpie pens in the 1950s. This is really sad!

I believe Richard Simon had some info on his site regarding these COAs as part of the FBI/Real Sports Sting.

"According to Real Sports, Global and I did very well in this test, while "four of the six authenticators failed miserably." (this is a quote from the reporter on the show, Armen Katayan). As to the four who "failed miserably," the COA's of Frank Garo, Stat Inc, Christopher Morales (a forensic examiner) and AAU (a forensic examination company) were shown on the screen as the reporter Armen Katayan continued his report."

Thus draw your own conclusions ...

Item removed?! Excellent!! I wonder if the seller removed it or if ebay removed it?

Ebay removed it.  If a seller cancels their auction, the auction is still visible.   If Ebay removes the auction it is no longer viewable.

If I'm not mistaken, Frank Garo was the main "authenticator" for Coach's Corner Auctions at one time.

I once had a few email exchanges with Garo.

Never heard of this man.

well here ya go;   http://fpgaro.com/

I guess forensic doesn't include gold sharpies...

All due respect, even though this post is 8 years old, if you research felt tip markers, the patent was in 1924...

Below is an item that is presently being auctioned off on the Coach's Corner auction site.  It is "authenticated" by both Chris Morales, Forensic Investigator and Frank Garo, Forensic Handwriting Examiner.

The problem with this ball is not Garo... it’s the terrible reputation of Morales...the situation is, prove the ball is NOT real! Morales and Stat should go away, however.

Below is a Lou Gehrig autographed jersey currently on the Coach's Corner auction site.  It is "authenticated" by both Chris Morales, Forensic Investigator and Frank Garo, Forensic Handwriting Examiner.  The bidding is up to a whopping $300.00.

Try writing with a steel tip fountain pen on fabrics...

I'm beginning to wonder...

Has anyone ever seen Frangipani, Morales, Drew Max and Garo in the same room at the same time?

Hmmmm........
