Wow.

sold for 6100 Pounds

Before premiums etc. of ca. 30%....so nearer GBP 8,000 in reality. A touch high but obviously a lovely set of items.

I don’t think it’s high for a letter and a picture. Especially from 1966. Quite a desirable year, especially for Harrison, as he was on songwriting fire that year.

I have certainly seen much less interesting Beatles items selling for much more and the value of more unusual items like this one will always be a matter of opinion.

In this case the letter and the signed photograph don't seem spectacular enough to me to warrant an outlay of ca, USD 10,000.

The letter shows that Harrison was a caring man but the content doesn't talk about what George or the group are doing or feeling.

The photo is a standard publicity one that looks like it was also issued as a postcard and George's pen has had trouble on the glossy surface. George has also signed rather too far to the right and there is some discolouration to his autograph.

The letter was written in 1964 rather than 1966. I agree that a 1966 item would be far rarer and from a more interesting period, especially as regards George.

By the way, this signed Harrison publicity photo sold for EUR 1,000 at IAA Europe today. I prefer it as a photograph but I'm not entirely sure it is genuine:
