I have had these two pairs of autographs for a long time.  Signed at close to the same time.  Reading lately about consideration of having a restorer marrying the two sets onto a one page set of four?  Looking for your opinions on the wisdom of doing this.  How would the values before and after change in your opinion assuming the restorer did a very good job.  Also would you have the dedication removed at the same time.  Your thoughts appreciated.  Thanks

I can’t speak to authenticity on the Fab Four but if indeed authentic I wouldn’t do any type of marrying or restoration/ inscription manipulation of any sort!
Leave them as is. They are still together. No need to artificially enhance what’s already perfect.

I can't believe that removing an original inscription from a Beatles autograph is even a consideration.  It is part of it's history and helps authenticate it.

As for "marrying" two pages of different sizes and colors, I can't even imagine what such a Frankenstein creation would look like.

What is happening to this hobby?  😕

I wouldn’t have a restorer do anything to that set. It’s more valuable in its original form.

Thanks for an indication of values.

Leave it alone, for sure.

This would be destructive! It is in its most valuable state as is.  In my book a true restorer would never even consider any this.

I can hardly believe the question, especially the part about removing the inscription. Marrying two unconnected sets would be tantamount to fraud anyway unless the finished "work" was solid as a marriage - and I can guarantee that no knowledgeable collector would want that anyway - or at least not for more than the two separate pages. Matting the two pages together in one frame would be a much better solution.

Speaking as someone who cuts tip in signed pages from books and has been a bit destructive with certain items at times. See my post here

I would NEVER think about altering a set like these at all. Why not just mat them with a non autographed photo in a similar way as I did in my link above but with the photo adhered to museum board using all archival materials and have the autographs float mounted behind? This may scratch your itch to have them displayed together without risking being destructive.

I never display anything I own long term because of potential light damage and something like this, I would probably create a book (more like customized binder) for to place this in where I can open it up and enjoy it whenever I want, but also have the ability to take it out and put it behind glass if I ever want it displayed briefly.

I believe if you research enough, you will find a way to be happy while keeping these as is. I have to be reminded of that every now and again (thank you Eric) when I start to get carried away.

In my comment I meant "sold" of course - I say this as "solid" might also have fitted the sentence.

+1

Hey Dennis Leave it as is...
