Iconic Auctions offering David Gilmour *COPIED* Signature - BAS Authenticated

Would like to expose another Gilmour autograph, this time coming from our friends at Iconic Auction. Currently listed is a cassette 'signed' by David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

Problem is that the signature matches identically to a cut offered on this site a few years ago that was previously certed by PSA. After examining the cassette, there are some oddities in ink which make me believe that the signature from Iconic is a copy from the original offered here. You be the judge.

Yet again, another BAS blunder - in my opinion of course.

Iconic's guarantee is spelled out more clearly...

Lots that are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from a third-party authenticator are not eligible for return.

So, if you buy it through PPC you might be able to return it, but the same item sold though Iconic isn't eligible for return?

Iconic is an auction house and they often have policies like that. PPC is a dealer.

But remember, they are both owned by the same people and under one umbrella.

True, but auctions usually have different rules. If a dealer has an auction division it's typical for guarantees and return policies to be completely different.

So when a certed item that is owned and sold by a dealer is returned for authenticity concerns, in some cases they could theoretically move that item to their auction division and not have to worry about another return.

Very shady business practices, but I’m sure that is something they think about.

That's right, Ballroom. But you can remove the term "theoretically." It's not a rare occurrence.

Here are a few examples - not his first rodeo

Stevie Nicks CD applied to guitar

Bruce Springsteen signed picture/poster applied to guitar

Madonna signed book applied to pickguard

Those are fugly  and lame

Where does he say that signatures are being applied to guards?
