I saw this on an auction site from a private collector. I see some problems with it but would like some other opinions. Thanks in advance.

That’s a well-known forgery style. One we talk about quite a bit. All the ones we’ve seen were printed on inkjet printed photos. Inkjet photos came out right after Mantle died.

Typical "Florida" garbage.

So what should one look out for on this forgery style?  Is it the big, looping first M that really stands out which is consistently larger than the second M?  And maybe the pronounced upward positioning of the last name? 

James, the only thing that works for me is my "eye."

I don't get technical about autographs.

My "eye" sees everything (speed, formation, baseline, etc).
