Some FB post will also be made by his PR team, never underestimate the length a PR agency will go to control and manipulate the narrative (my line of work is in marketing, I have worked with many...)

I can guarantee that on top of his regular PR people, a specialised PR team has been recruited for damage limitation and containment. Their job is to initiate the spark on social media to give the overall tone of the public reaction to the scandal: forgiveness, praise the genius of the man and try to bury it ASAP. In short, by posting forgiving comments, they send the message that you are only a true BD fan if you praise the man for coming clean and label collectors idiots for spending money on his signed stuff. And I also guarantee their are reading this thread and monitor social media / forums. It's their job.

That's what I was thinking, it almost had to have been some paid bot accounts commenting. It would make sense to do that as they would know the moment he's hitting post, and would be able to get the first full of praise comments in, and herd mentality would take over... but who knows for sure, somehow the stupidity of people never ceases to surprise me at times.

Castle Art just posted on Facebook that they will be refunding purchases of the autopen prints.

Yes they will refund you, as long as you return the current Certificate of Authenticity in exchange for one reflecting the autopen signature. Nothing like a bit of blackmail ! 

Reading that statement I think Castle Fine Art are scared of potential Court Case(s) and if all COA's are returned there will be no physical proof of any wrongdoing  !

This e-mail alone with a copy of the original COA would be proof enough. It's up to authorities to start a criminal case or not.

Reason they are requiring the COA is to prevent double claims. If they refund but let you keep the COA and you resell the piece as hand-signed, the purchaser might start a claim against Castle in the future.

I doubt it, the claim can only be made against castle by the original purchaser, hence no possibility of double claim. If someone bought one at auction, it is where they would be making their claim.

So I'm assuming "fixing" the problem is refunding the money, letting people keep their junk autopen items as a consolation prize, and nothing will be done beyond that. So the people that thought they were getting real Bob Dylan autographs, deal with a bunch of bs, and end up with trash instead of their autographed items. They get off scot free beyond the low price of some paper and ink, and the story ends there. What a joke. 

I understand they're not legally obligated to do anymore, at least I would assume... but that isn't making things right in my book.

Yes - it's what i thought would really  happen as in Mr Dylans Twitter Statement of ' Immediate rectification'. 

So even more Dylan Autopenned shite will end up on ebay ! LOL

I find it So Strange that Mr Dylan is above the law and seemingly getting away with multi million pound fraud.

Somehow I'm not surprised... the rich and famous seem to have a whole different set of laws than us common folk. Millions in fraud to them is now just a tax write off... to us it would be a prison sentence. 

And yes you're right, there's upwards of 900 fake autopen signed books out there with a COA from a CEO of a major book publisher saying they're authentic hand signed books... and I'm sure there's probably more than 900 gullible people that believe a COA above all else, and plenty of dealers that have no problem selling fakes all over eBay. In a few years when everyone forgets about this I'm sure we'll see some pop up for sale as real signed books.

That’s good but they must do better than that for customers who own prior series.

I can’t trust the sig on my 2018 Mondo Scripto to be legit and other than Bob’s word, neither can Castle. He just attempted a massive fraud- how can they/we trust him?

It’s likely he admitted only to the bare minimum for which there is evidence so far. It’s not like he’s going to say “Yeah, those two series were autopenned, plus all prints from 2016-2019 were ghost-signed.”

I maintain that the crossed-Y sigs are not in his hand. How about releasing a quick video of him signing a crossed-Y sig?? I’d be interested to see him do it. He should be able to do it with ease having “signed” thousands of prints in this style right?

Setting up the date at 2019 is part of the damage limitation strategy. Comparatively, few prints must have been sold since 2019, so less to refund / worry about, but I wouldn't be so sure this is not going back way further than that date. Also having to return the COA is very shady. Castle clearly sought legal advice and fear court cases. Anyone having a Castle print should not settle for just a refund, accepting it means settling out of court with limited possibilities for further legal action. I'm not a lawyer, but it seems plausible,
