What do you all think? Real or fake?

Fake IMO. I haven’t seen anything from ICZ that looked real to me.

Agreed.

Yes, agreed - forgery.

The Lennon "doodle" look like the ones that are consistent with the So Cal forgers...

I agree. I don't recall the SoCA Forger ever attempting mid-1970s Lennons. How common was it for Lennon to sign Beatles memorabilia in the mid-70s? Especially 1964, when the book came out.

I agree with the others, it's far off from real, sorry. What's the story?

No real story, Steve. It's just coming up for auction soon and I was considering bidding. Thanks to everyone for their input.

It was very smart to ask for opinions first! Well done.

Good to know. I'm a pretty active autograph collector, mostly relying on Caiazzo, Tracks, Cox, PSA and R&R.  I hope I don't wear out my welcome asking for opinions for items that don't have a COA from those sources!

Are you saying that you rely solely on papers/opinions?

I consider myself pretty proficient with Beatles and Stones. But as we all know, it's hard to make a determination sometimes. At those times, yes, I rely on "papers."

For Dylan, I don't trust my own judgment and I don't know how anyone can. His signature varies wildly from day to day. For him, I rely almost exclusively on reputable COAs.

That said,  several years ago I bought both an Einstein and a Dylan on eBay of all places, relying only on what expertise I do have, and my gut. I got them for a small fraction of their value, probably because everyone else was dubious. Sometime later I had R&R sell them for me and I realized a hefty profit.

How about you?

I never rely on papers, I rely on my education and experience and the occasional assist from one or two sets of eyes in here. With Jackie Gleason I trust myself over anyone. I attach the work I submitted to PSA to remove the forgeries and secretarials from the Facts page (I think it was 5 out of 7?). No one had yet coordinated the names, dates and styles shown below. It took 4 years for them to change the page and now they only show a 1946 and a 1962! I have authentic exemplars from 1936 to 1980-something. The most common below is the Spear, followed by the Saddlemen which is seen on all "bus photos" I have ever seen save for one from the 70's (below).
