We're considering adding an eBay autograph and memorabilia forum, or group, to Autograph Magazine Live! where members can discuss everything from safe buying, to individual buyers and sellers, to discussing particular pieces you're interested in.
Is that something you'd be interested in? If so, what would you like to see in it, would you use it often, and do you have any ideas how you'd like it to work, including rules, etc.

Hey all, new here just found the site today. Was reading this thread and I would also love to see this forum happen. I recently bought 2 auto'd pics on EBay. No bids, low starting bid and I bid in the last 15 seconds. IF it is real, it would retail for at least 10 times what I paid, which makes me think there is a good chance it would be fake. Fortunately, it is not THAT much money that I would be out, but none the less it is money. It is an Eli-Peyton dual signed. I have Eli on two pieces that I witnessed get signed and the pic on the auction looks good. Granted I am not an expert. As for Peyton, do not have any, but have seen several. Compared it to some pieces I saw on reputable sites and it also looks good. Obviously, looks can be deceiving, so we shall see.

I'd love to see that Eli/Peyton Manning signed photo you won. 90% of the Eli/Manning Peyton signed anything are forgeries on Ebay.

When I get it, I will scan and post if I can post pics. The COA is from Redzone collectibles. As I looked at the auctions again, I noticed that it says the photo on the auction is a stock photo. He just had another one end today, same photo, but this one ended without a bidder. Not sure if it is ok to post but I would post a link to the auction and the seller's name if it is allowed.

I've noticed on ebay if no one is bidding on an item that is desireable it is a sign that it isn't real and that it's forged. I hope that isn't the case for you.

that's a good point. I will see when I get it. If I think it is fake, I will try to get my money back. If I think it could be real, I will send it to JSA.

one thing I do on almost all items that I buy is to use PSA quick opinion after the fact for 7.49. I used to pay 1 minute after the auction. Now on ANY substantial purchase I send it to quick opinion. If it passes, I pay, if not I cancel. If the clown doesn't want to cancel it, I file a pay pal claim. I would rathe blow the 7.49 than to buy any more crap, every time, because I don't really enjoy having the fake item or having to re-sell it to another dope. That's not the kind of recycling I like to do.

PSA Quick Opinion? Never heard of it. Do you have a link? Not sure it would be helpful here as they are showing a stock photo, but in the future definitely.

So, they arrived today. Looking at the Eli, I doubt these are legit. Compared it to another Eli which I received in person at a paid signing and there are a few inconsistencies. The COA looks and feels like something that I could have printed on my Commodore 64 in 1985. COA says Red Zone Sports Cards in Omaha, NE. Did a google search, only found that company in Albany, NY. Emailed the seller, told him "I could send these back and he can refund me or I can bring them to JSA (they will have a rep at a local sports store this weekend) to see what they say. If they say they are legit, then fine. If not, going to expect you to refund my money AND the cost to JSA for their services." We shall see what they say.

I ran into a forger in Omaha named Scott Hoffmann. He sold me, I don't know, a couple of thousand of dollars worth of forged golf balls when I was new to collecting. I met him on ebay. He went under HOF Collectibles at the time. Then he claimed he had to move and changed his email and I couldn't find him by the time I figured out he was a forger. He was kicked off of ebay but could have easily bought a new computer and changed his name. Now I'm not a rookie any more but he was one of the first who caught me in his web. Does the COA have any name on it or have you heard the name Scott in your dealings with him?

That Red Zone Sports Cards site you found with an Albany, NY phone number doesn't have a physical address anywhere on the website, which is always a red flag for me. And when I called the customer service number from Albany it rang about 20 times with no answer, no voice mail. It is Saturday, but it's just odd to me. If I had a large sports business I would want an answering machine so as not to miss sales. So even though they have a New York number, we don't really know what their physical address is.

that is shady, but mine says, "Redzone Sports Cards" and underneath, "Omaha, NE 68102". I googled Redzone Sports Cards, Omaha NE. got nothing
