Help! AAU Certified Babe Ruth/Ty Cobb Baseball and 14 HOFer Signed Induction Card Kicked Off eBay

I purchased through an auction house a signed Babe Ruth/Ty Cobb baseball and a HOF's signed induction card with 14 signatures. These items came with a COA from AAU, Drew Max, Pawn Stars authenicator. I put these on Ebay, only to be kicked off because their 3rd party authenticators said they were fakes. After some research,  I found out that Ebay does not recognize "Forensic Examiners"...why. They are far more educated in this arena than those other so called experts. So I go to a well established auction house, they send those items out to PSA along with some others I know for sure are authentic because I have pics of the individuals signing the items. Not to my surprise, all but one comes back not authenticated. Even the ones I know are for real...so much for PSA. Anyway, I contacted AAU and the president, Marc Goldman emails me to give him a call, I do. He states that all the above forementioned items are real and that he will go to court with me to prove such. He also stated that Ebay had contacted them in 1997-98 to be their 3rd party authenticator, they turned them down...hence the snub on Ebay. He also stated that I should sell these with a clear mind, that I am not frauding anyone. So who do I believe? Oh, and the orginal auction house says that they sold me an authentic items. These items are worth, between 40,000 and 50,000  if real. So any adivice? I'm seriously thinking of hiring a lawyer. It's not about money, but principal.

Sometimes we react very emotionally over here and with good reason.

Ron purchased those autographs to flip and make a profit.  Then his auction(s) get removed by Ebay and then Ron comes here looking for help.   He stated in his opening comment "These items are worth between $40,000 and $50,000 if real." 

Ron paid $600.00 for that HOF Induction Sheet with 14 signatures and he was probably hoping to flip it for five times his purchase price. 

In my opinion, he was already upset because Ebay removed his auctions.  Then he got defensive when reality hit that the autographs he purchased may not be authentic. 

I say let him deal with it himself.

Wow! It is more interesting than I thought it would be!! Entertaining too!! You were right Chris! For someone who came to the forum for help, he is one cocky individual with an attitude. Be humble! Maybe he can learn something from fellow members here and maybe not get rip off the next time around. Compared to the Skateboarding Forum that I am a member. This is like Disneyland!!! They would have hanged and crucified him there. Seriously.

AML has been the best tool and resource for me in my autographs collection . Everyone here is very helpful and honest in their opinions and feedbacks.

I just want to say thanks Steve and everyone here!!! :)

$50 a signature for the 1939 baseball HOF induction class? Doesn't sound suspicious at all. ;-)

Since he got taken he will undoubtedly try and rip somebody else off in return. Most of those dopes do.  Just going to be hard to get $40K-$50K off Craigslist. LOL

What Ron did is a rookie mistake. Most newbies do the same thing, perhaps not jumping in so deep so quickly.

Ron, if you are still out there.....The auction you bought was sanctioned by a still approved authenticator on Proxibid. They will not be of help to you. If you paid with a credit card, try to do a chargeback against the auction house. Auctioneers hate chargebacks but it may be your only hope at this time. Please do not try to dupe someone else into taking your mistake.

If you will forgive a poor attempt at humor, you can always go to Las Vegas to Rick Harrison's pawn shop and try to sell it to him. Since it has his friend's COA attached, you might not get to meet Drew but if you start at $40,000 you might get your $800 back. Good luck!
