Check out his ugly Roger Maris forgery on a baseball found on Ebay.

The below putrid-looking Roger Maris forgery on a baseball is listed by Ebay seller Bthoven14.

Ebay seller Bthoven14 writes "Will guarantee the signature to be authentic and pass any respected third-party authentication service."

Seriously?

Both PSA and JSA will deem the below "Roger Maris" autograph "Not Authentic" in a millisecond.

This is one ugly Roger Maris forgery on a baseball listed by Ebay seller Bthoven14.

Mr. Mccaan, many of us here have been studying autographs for a long, long time.

Your "Maris" is an obvious bad forgery.

We are very happy Ebay removed it.  I hope you'll destroy it, or rub  out the forgery and give it to some kids to play with.

hello there,

again, as i had said, i didn't want to do anything wrong here. not my intention, but why do most of you have to be so derogatory. i enjoy discussing any and all memorabilia but i don't think it needs to be done with the immediate negative implications and insults. and it should be done in a professional manner. i know none of you, as none of you know me, and I would never talk to any of you immediately in this manner. thank you

Over the last decade or so when we have attempted to inform a seller of a forgery (or forgeries) they are listing, sellers would get defensive and insulting.  I have stopped going that route.

Now we just expose them.  We are sick and tired of this crap.

Take yourself for example.  Even after we informed you that your "Maris" is a forgery, did you take it down?  No you didn't.

Thank goodness Ebay removed it.

hello sir,

but i was willing if anyone wanted to have any of the autographs looked at by a third party authentication service i was welcoming and accommodating to do so. i will give the ball back to the family i received it from. take care

His Mantle looks good, Musial looks fine, but Maris is off to me.

Bob, he's talking about the autograph itself on this one.  Don't take it personal.  Welcome to the forum.  I will warn you though if you copy and paste your message one more time it will be considered spam.

sorry,

you are right..... i am new to all of this and i thought copying and pasting was the easiest way to reply to everyone. guess i am not overly tech-savvy. thanks very much

the Maris is still listed.  apparently the seller doesn't care about selling a known forgery.  This is not just a forgery, there are so many things wrong with it that can be classified in the "pathetic attempt" category.

The Maris is a forgery you have been told and yet you were still selling it. Well until ebay pulled it for being a fake.

And I love that (2) account. 82% of the 29 items they bid on are yours......Nothing to see here lol
