As previously stated there was nothing in the order stating it will be signed. When I realised this I contacted the store and they said the signed copies will be allocated in chronological order based on the date and time of purchase and there's no guarantee I will be delivered a signed version.

The emails are the proof for me, but they can always claim I wasn't one of the first to order.

I am actually feeling very optimistic, though it will be no big deal if it is not signed.

I've done the same. I send an email " I ordered the book when u offered signed preorder so i understand I'll get one..."

Surely they will, although Waterstones is a bit of a mess at the moment with warehouse issues, so if you do snag one it could be a while before you see it. (I'm waiting 3+ weeks and counting on some orders after release)
