Denver Broncos Super Bowl Winning Team Signed Jersey - Antiquities of CA

I am new to the site and new to collecting signed memorabilia. I am a huge Denver Broncos fan and after recently taking my first trip to Denver for the opening game against Carolina and having a football signed by Rod Smith, Ed McCaffrey and John Lynch in person, I wanted to expand on my collection by purchasing a few extra pieces.

Enter Antiquities of CA.

A friend of mine had visited the SF area and sent me a photo of the jersey knowing I would love it. I got in contact with the store via email and immediately heard back - almost too quickly. The rep has been fairly aggressive in attempting to get me to finalize the purchase and after negotiating with him for a week, I was able to get this item down to $1,500 out the door from, as he stated, a "retail price of $2,250" and a "total value of $4,950."

The simple fact that I was able to knock off $750 by hesitating made me question this items legitimacy. I don't have any knowledge when it comes to the value of autographed items, but this seemed a bit questionable, so I elected to search the wonderful world of Google for any information I could find regarding this business. I stumbled upon this site and a few threads discussing all the forgery's at Antiquities CA as well as their Yelp page, which has numerous reviews touching on the fakes.

Therefore, I've decided to post here to get some feedback from those who understand this world far more than I do and who know a fake signature or low priced item when they see one.

The signatures on the jersey are said to be the following:

Peyton Manning, Antonio Smith, Demarcus Ware, Vernon Davis, Owen Daniels, Aqib Talib, T.J. Ward, Andre Caldwell, Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Von Miller, Chris Harris, Ronnie Hillman, Brandon Marshall, Kayvan Webster, C.J. Anderson, Brandon McManus, Shane Ray, Wade Phillips (DC), Gary Kubiak (HC)

I advised the rep three days ago that I questioned the authenticity of his item, citing the many sites discussing their store and the forgeries they sell. He stopped responding all together and then yesterday his "Manager" called to discuss the item, stating the recent emails were confusing and she wanted to assist in getting my questions answered.

This whole scenario is very odd, so please help a brotha out!

Hello,

Welcome. One useful tool here is the Search feature. Plugging your sellers name in and searching yields this, among many others things:

Antiquities Ca.

You did not purchase anything yet? Good. You did very well to trust your instincts and look into this.

I believe it Is Scott Pernice who is manager. He started buying off of RACC recently, but he is a framer by trade...

My advice, avoid this company.

Raac would be happy to make a buck of Antiquities, but the damage is already done in my opinion, with the amount of forgeries they sell.
I've seen a massive collection of these Antiquities forgeries here in my own country, from the Beatles ,to Elvis , sports, its unbelievable how much money the owner has spent on worthless garbage.
I think the best advice would be to run.
